carphone warehouse superlock oddness
First off, hello MSE :hello:
So I went to carphone warehouse and asked about their payg deals, when asking about changing the network the salesman informed me that carphone warehouse superlock their phones and that attempting to change the network (unlock) the phone is illegal and will get you 5 years??!!! :rotfl:
I laughed at him and told him that it was the dumbest thing I'd ever heard in my entire life, the other customers laughed too. He seemed absolutely adamant though.
Does anyone else have any amusing/ridiculous salesperson anecdotes to share?

He should get 5 years somewhere - not prison though - maybe primary school!

Also, do other people get the feeling that some salespeople couldn't give a monkeys about payg customers? The pay monthlies seem to get star treatment in comparison.0

When I was looking to purchase a phone on o2 from carphone warehouse I was told by the salesman that I couldnt put my existing payg o2 sim in it or the phone would be blocked and unusable! I purchased directly from o2 and never had a problem.0

This is what makes it incredibly stupid - lying to customers about their phones being unlockable just makes them shop somewhere else. It's almost like cpw don't want to sell payg phones.0
