What about the seller who does post and the buyer does actually receive but claims not to have, or the buyer who receives it as it is described but claims its not!! Its ok to say its all the sellers fault because ebay will 99% of the time side with the buyer anyway.
A buyer who gets 2 strikes against them doesn't prevent anything it just means they set up a new account, whereby a seller with good feedback who gets a few negs has to ride it out or lose all the positive feedback they have earned.
Ebay is a faceless transaction, just like people on here they can hide behind a username and when they feel like it they can change to a new username. If ebay brought in security checks and limited the number of accounts you can have, whilst assigning those limited number of accounts to an actual bank account/credit card and address to prevent people just signing up loads of accounts it may go some way.
When people realise they can't just walk away from a transaction or everytime they claim an INR or ask for a partial refund was logged to that account they may think twice about playing the system.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -

I'm not disputing that but both sides have to have some accountability its currently protected from one side only. Yes there are ways as a seller you can protect yourself to a degree.
At the moment though its very easy for a buyer to be dishonest and the seller looses out. Just read some of the threads on here, one of the top of my head about the wedding dress where she wants to return it because she has split with her partner. Why should the seller have to take that back and refund. As others have said they will end up having to do that because the buyer would like win a dispute for an item not described/damaged if they really wanted to pursue, the seller would have zero protection and could end up with a damaged item returned just because the buyer no longer wants it.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
LOL...I'd never bid on anything that claimed they are not responsible for lost post. The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!0

Seriously, bring back negs, and a few bad buyers might be put off, the rest of the minority will just use new accounts, and the good decent buyers will be afraid of sellers who give retaliatory negs and will take their money elsewhere.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -
I can see both the pros and cons to sellers being allowed to leave negs again but I do think something needs to be put in place, what ever that maybe to make buyers aware that ehy are also required to commit to buying just like a seller is committed to selling.
You sure you meant ebuyer and not ebid?Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
Neg FB for a buyer really means nothing, most people tend to snipe bid. You can't check your listings & cancel bids if their FB isn't up to scratch, I'm not sure if you are allowed to cancel bids for no reason.
All you can do is complete the NPB's block people who have been a pain in the ar5e.
A lot of the threads on here are about bad sellers.
Also try to remember that on here we only hear about the bad experiences people have, never the good.0 -
