I have had NO LUCK at all trying to get one of these

I am very, very jealous of everyone and their bargains. Although I am of course pleased for them too
Does anyone have ANY IDEA if I am likely to get hold of one now, do you think they will come back in stock anywhere?Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Cleverboxes have stock coming in on Tuesday. http://blog.cleverboxes.com/2011/08/26/
I have a relation who has accounts with a couple of the distributors in the list I posted that have stock due to be delivered to them. He checked and told me even the distributors are selling them for more than the reduced price. Any store buying stock from these distributors will have to sell them for a higher price.
Only way IMO you will be able to get one at the reduced price is if one of the big name stores gets new stock in as they get their stock direct from HP.0 -

Interesting development - selling 16gb at £199 and 32gb at £229 due to increased cost from their suppliers - now much as this has kept me amused for a few days of my holiday and I had convinced myself that I wanted one at this bargain price, I hadn't even heard of the HP Touchpad before the price drop so am I really going to pay more than double for the 16gb or nearly double for the 32gb? No, thought not (though 10 16gb and 23 32gb sold already with this supplier, so some are clearly convinced it is still a deal - and at half the rrp perhaps they are).
One of the suppliers on Amazon marketplace is selling at £499 (another at £600+) importing from USA and they are stating that they are not processing the price drop - I suspect that they will be stuck with stock ...
You would think that HP would distribute any remaining stock directly themselves, as it is is clear that the profit margin has been significantly reduced for anyone else involved in the supply chain (distributor or retailer). The choice of price intrigues me though - do we think this is the cost price (including a profit margin for the retailer) or not linked at all to production cost as they have effectively written off all production/development costs anyway?

Personally think Cleverboxes selling at £110 over the "sale" price is tantamount to profiteering - no way is it costing them that much to buy in order to sell at that price.
We were talking about this at work yesterday and if you're going to be £200 on one then you're probably better off getting one of the good tablets or even an iPad. At £90 yes, go for the HP, but not at £200+
I'm just wondering how long the craziness will last and whether they will ever come down to about £100ish on eBay and/or Amazon marketplace ?0 -

Presumably in a few weeks time when all the hype has died down there'll be loads that folk have bought to resell that aren't selling because the market is saturated and will be sold to try to recoup costs at best0 -
Give it a few weeks and half of them will be in the back of the cupboard with the breadmakers, juicers, yoghurt makers etc0

Keyboards for these are available at Tesco and CPW for £30.
Just need to find some Touchstones!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

... alongside the waffle maker, chocolate fountain, DTV USB stick and the collection of smaller USB sticks that I just had to buy the magazine to get free ...
