Huge ebay dilemma!

I sold an highly expensive item yesterday evening. They were tickets for an event starting Saturday. However due to the suspect nature of the winning bidder I believe he may waste my time. He has zero feedback and he was asking if he could pick the tickets up from my house even though it says only by paypal. He not paid and I dont think he will. What can I do? I would need to relist the item by Tuesday at the latest.

Why should I let him collect? What if he robs me or something?0 -
You're being a bit overdramatic. If your that paranoid ask a friend to be with you. AS before though do not accept paypal on a collection item as it leaves you wide open to a scam.elvenmunky wrote: »Why should I let him collect? What if he robs me or something?
Also just because he has no FB doesnt mean anything. He has already been in contact. If you want to sell them offer a pick up. If you dont you'll end up with FVFs to pay and dodgy Feedback.
He probably wants to pick them up to guarantee he gets them in time for the event.
Also not sure ebay is the selling venue for you if you're this paranoid.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Is the right answer, and you (the OP) are making a mountain out of a molehill.

I really can't see the issue here. Surely it is safer for you to sell the tickets for cash only (not a cheque or as others have pointed out paypal) face to face.
Perhaps arrange to meet in a public place - cafe/bar etc, and exchange that way. I wouldn't fancy giving out home address for collection though.
I do think you are being a little over dramatic - it isn't exactly a "huge" problem.0 -
I think its a huge problem because he might waste my time and I wont be able to sell the tickets on time, thus me losing out on 230 pounds. It starts on Saturday btw. I haven't put the item on for collection. I have clearly stated that its Royal Mail special delivery. Anyway I have his number and I shall be ringing him later asking of he can pay ASAP. He should have really paid yesterday.0

But he, not unreasonably, wants to collect them to make sure he gets them on time. I cannot see anything wrong with him doing that.

right, and the time to think about that was before you listed
I hae always collected tickets with cash when bought on eBay
I specifically look for sellers I can get to as it makes more sense than risking tickets caught in limbo in the post0
