    WM done x2
    Recluttered my house with a DD2 :D

Apparently KH isnt having the children this week.. so it will be 2 full weeks he hasnt seen any of them except for DD2.. last time I spoke to him I told him he needs to make an effort and a fuss with DD4 as she is feeling sad because she doesnt see him.. then he dumps her for 2 weeks.. tw4t.

Girl have sprinked glitter all over their carpet and it looks like a shredder has been emptied on their carpet so they are vacuuming tomorrow.. and I need to sort through their cupboards for flingage!

I just found 3 brand new coats in my bedding cupboard.. 2 girls (both vertbaudet 11-12) and 1 boys (next 11-12 with tags on for £45.99!!!!!) ...of course they wont fit anyone this winter.. so they are going on ebay.. it is so annoying!

knitted half a sleeve.. it is very boring, I hate doing sleeves.. plus the pattern looks nothing at all like the picture.. hey ho!

Nest time anyway... hopefully Squeak wont poo at 3:30am tonight!

Oh.. I had words with my sister too... so now I will be all that is evil..

Evening all - just checking in and wanted to say that the Fishie Gods were good this weekend. Jokingly made an offering of a splash of fizzy drink into the lake and it went mad at the peg for the rest of the day. There were two of us on the one peg, quietly giggling at jokes, with rods, reels, line, hooks, camouflage gear, the whole shebang costing less than the other anglers had probably paid for their bait, and they caught nothing. Once I caught a large Perch, on top of a carp and every other species of fish in the lake, they even started packing up to go home around 4 hours early. The few that stayed went on to hear me catch a nice Tench and a bunch of others, all just on red maggots. And talking to the fish instead of calling them things or concentrating on how I looked in photos or how much they weighed.

And then, as we were packing up, I noticed the float was looking funny. After a couple of minutes, having been told 'nah, it's nothing, there's only a couple of dead maggots on it', I thought I would just reach out and take the rod gently.

As my hand was 4 inches away from the rod, it flew off the peg into the water with a big splash and went skating across the lake at a rate of knots.

Cue me swearing very loudly, him going 'what?'

    'Your rod's gone!'

    'WHAT? WHERE?'

    'OVER THERE!'

[crash, bang wallop as I leap over the gear and an inlet and start pegging it across the grass towards where the rod was headed, grabbing a big stick on the way]

[Thud as I hit the ground at the next peg and just catch the rod before it floats off into the bullrushes]

[Thuds as fishing buddy runs up with the net]

    Retrieve the rod.

    'It's stuck'

'No it isn't, there's still a fish on the end'

    'WHAT?' [pulls gently on rod]

[Whomp as the fish tries to make another break for it]

    'Errggghhhhhhhhh....it's............big.........HUGE!' [more swearing]

[THUD as I reassemble net and throw myself between his legs onto the peg, sinking the net into the lake. Head down, hoping that the rod doesn't snap or I'm likely to lose half my face.]

Five minutes of gasps, puffs and grunts ensue.

Until a beautiful slab of fishiness glides into the net and nearly drags me off the platform.

    [hysterical giggling]

Back to original peg, one struggling with net and fish, one staggering with rod still attached.

Beautiful common carp gently placed back in water until weighing gear set up, hook slips out at the slightest touch, then out for photo and weighing, together with gentle rinsing with water constantly to increase oxygen sats.

    Fish weighed. Giant.

Fish photographed, checked over once more - in perfect condition, not tired, gills fresh, deep, rich red - and returned to water unharmed.

Lots more giggling. Until a giant perch tried the same trick on my rod, but I caught it before it went and it bit through the line. That would have been excessive luck.

I finished the day taking 35 minutes to walk the 5 minutes back to the car, leaning on my stick, in pain, exhausted, dehydrated, with heatstroke, suntanned arms, covered in a combination of fish slime and maggot dust and soaking wet from the fresh water I was pouring over the fish constantly to minimise any stress. The fish certainly looked better going back to their home than I did.

    But it was worth it.

Going to go next week when DD has been invited to go to KH's. Would have been nice had they asked, rather than arranged it first.

Today, I bought a lawnmower and then decided it was far too much like hard work to mow the lawn today, so spent the time doing nothing instead.

    Back to housework tomorrow.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
