I have a job interview today. If I get it, our cash situation will be improved considerably. I was at a meeting yesterday where one of my colleagues was sick with a tummy bug and today, I have abdominal cramps. I'm trying to tell myself it's psychological, nerves about my interview. Actually, I'm really forcing myself to get moving, get the interview over and done with then curl up in bed with OH.

On the plus side, me and OH have found a few few bits to try and sell on gumtree. Two were wedding gifts...is that bad?! :o I'm hoping we can raise enough to make an extra payment to a debt. Any amount would be a start. Fingers crossed they sell.

We sold some wedding presents on Eb*y:) Couldnt remember who we got them from so didnt feel too bad - really 'orrible china dust traps:eek: Cant even think why whoever bough them thought they were to our taste - spent 22 years boxed in an attic - we even moved them from our previous house attic to this one:rotfl::rotfl:

    Hi Ani*Fan,

Just de-lurking to say a quick hello and wish you luck on your debt free journey (I have a similar amount of debt to you and know exactly what a mountain it can feel like to climb, but we'll get there!) Will be following your progress.

P.S. Hope the interview went well, fingers crossed for you!

    I got the job!!!!!!!!!!!

    WOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Thank you thank you thank you, lovely people, for all your good luck messages! It was so great to come online and find them and so sweet of you all to think of me:happylove.
The interview was an hour and a half of serious grilling but I managed to survive it. I think towards the end my brain got a bit mashed but I managed to say all the things I needed to say and evidently it worked 'cos they phoned me as I was driving home to offer me the post! I'm so delighted I can't tell you.

Because the work is for the same place I work for now, just more hours at a new base that's opening, I can start immediately. And I got some amazing feedback, which never happens at my work, so I was doubly chuffed to listen to all those good things being said about me.

    Oh, it's all good!

My next step is to redo the budget, work out how much more is coming in and start planning repayments. I'm actually going to have some cash to throw at debts. I honestly can't believe it.

Igamogam, you're wedding present story made me laugh so hard. 22 years?! That's mental! And totally makes me feel better about selling ours. Me and OH are country cottage bumpkins and like things made of wood and slate and natural stuff, cheap and country-style. My brother bought us 2 posh crystal champagne flutes that are so heavy we can hardly lift them and so expensive we're scared to use them anyway. They're getting listed this weekend. And I can stop moving them around from cupboard to cupboard. :)

Anyway, thank you all again. I'm sure those positive vibes helped keep me on track yesterday. Much appreciated.
