Yes I'm going to keep that car tax goal in mind all month. I have a vague plan to sell a couple of things, get OH to sell a couple of things, underspend on the food budget and do lots of driving at work so I can claim expenses (roughly 30% more than I spend on fuel). But if it doesn't happen I'm not going to beat myself up.If you know you have enough, you're rich.0

I've had some bad news at work.
All members of staff have been called to a meeting with the big boss next week. We need to hear some 'important news', evidently.
The last time this happened the comapny was restructuring and everyone had to reapply for their jobs. Many people lost work.
I'm pretty scared but trying not to panic. I think I may lose some days work but hopefully not it all.
It's awful but nothing I can do 'til I find out what's happening. If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -

I spotted a breadmaker on freecycle this week. I've emailed and am just waiting to hear if it's mine. I'm so excited! I've never used one before but my pal made us pizza one night making dough in hers and it was absolutely delicious.
I love freebies!If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -

:( and insert *a fingers crossed smiley* for breadmaker - I love freegle too - just got rid of a lot of stuff on there.
I have a meeting with boss on Monday re job - my request. I am sick to death of people in high places making decisions, having meetings, saying they are in the consultation ( nobody has consulted us - the workers) process but actually its all boolocks. They have made their decisions purely on financial reasons due to terrible financial management in past and now a knee jerk reaction is to throw their arms up in the air, make changes through the back door, carve up the nice jobs between them and expect us to deal with the fall out. I sound a bit:mad: dont I :rotfl: I am sure there is a job for me at the end of it all but it will have more responsibilty, in a different place, with 20 more miles on my commute and no increase in salary - I am
Sorry hijacked your diary - should be posting on mine!
Have a good weekend Ani - try not to think about it too muchBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

That does sound similar to my position Igamogam. Very poor financial decisions by management and we all pay the price. My company also prone to knee jerk panic reactions cos of the recession. And even I know that our business has a pattern of less work in March/April due to the end of the financial year, then there's a massive rush in April. And when they reduce people's hours, its the same amount of work required in less time.
Maybe I should become a manager. :mad:Sort the uselss gits out. If they had asked us how to save money I could have offered them loads of ideas. Or referred them here to have a word with Martin. :money:LOL!!!
Thanks so much for the crossed fingers. :A Truly appreciated. If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
Had a treat today and went out for coffee and cake with a friend. I had a lovely time and thought I really, truly appreciate these things now, like I should have all along I guess. So happy to not be mindlessly consuming and racking up debt now.If you know you have enough, you're rich.0
