i'd agree with kepar though (there's a 1st!! ) what makes you think the OR takes a role in the day to day of a bankrupts life?
It probably is. LOL0 -
That is a worrying trend, and would in my humble opinion be one factor in the rising number of repeat bankruptcy cases.
It is a worry...but loosing 500+ staff recently hasnt helped the increased workload..
although I digress so apologies to maizy for the postsWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Bringing order in my mind is about budgets and understanding what one can and cannot afford etc. The whole process should, and often does help a BK understand more about financial control and budgeting. Before anyone complains - this is a general point, and I know it does not reply to Maizy.
Exactly, it is the process of going BR and having budgetary allowances imposed upon them which helps the BR learn how to manage their finances better.
I have yet to see one BR on this forum declare that their OR has helped them to budget and understand how to manage.
The OR allows a certain amount for the BR to live on, it's up to the BR to live within their means. The OR has no more input than that.
Oh, and, errrr, Kepar.... I agree with you on this too.

Thanks
KEPAR please, it was the above quote from another poster I was answering. It was not me who raised the stats, and you should well know that. If you are trying to trap someone, then at least do it properly.0 -

I apologise I missed that, I wasn't trying to trap, just genuinely interested.0 -

Thank you so much for that. I am genuinely trying to help, and I am constantly being asked to justify, when I do, I get it in the neck again.
For what its worth, I think the main reason people are going BR more frequently and more than once, is because these preying debt management companies contribute to it. Must add that is a personal opinion.0 -
I think maybe you are just trying to hard to help. You give more information than is genuinely required to answer the question and then you are challenged on the additional unecessary information.

Hi Maizy - please don't lose heart.
The dive - is it serviceable, i.e. working heating, no cracks in the windows, no damp (working guttering!), etc. etc. If so and it's only cosmetic then how about asking the LL to provide you with some white emulsion and a week rent free to decorate before you move?
The nice one - sometimes it's better to be up front and explain you are having to let your house be repossessed. They'll have experienced this before no doubt and not raise an eyebrow, these things happen. You don't have to mention the BR, just that due to the current economic climate you are no longer able to maintain your own home.
