Things You Never Thought You Could Sell

I'm having a nightmare with crazy buyers at the mo'.
Just sold a few items which were used and clearly labelled as such - photos, description etc.
One buyer paid £1.25 for an item then emailed me kicking off saying they thought it was new.
I replied saying I couldn't understand how they could think that, but if they returned the item by recorded post I would refund their money.
And they agreed! For the sake of £1.25 because they didn't read the listing!
And I've just had one buyer make a 20 mile round trip to collect an item to "save on the hassle of postage".
I was going to charge them £2!

No you're not going mad - that's the way ebay is these days. A while ago I had a car listed as an auction but with a buy it now price of £300. Someone came and offered me £500 to end it. I pointed out that he could buy it now for less but he wanted to make sure someone else didn't get it before he got home.LBM : March 2008

i never have much luck with Ebay, mainly because I am rubbish at taking photos, so everything looks fuzzy.
Found a stack of old Friends videos and sold them on Amazon.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

A couple of years ago I bought a lot of maternity clothes on Ebay. There was always only about 5 pages worth of maternity clothes at the time on Ebay, and there wasn't as much choice in High St as there is now.
I put them all back on and made a profit.
I also bought a holidays worth of clothes in sales the same year in a larger size (due to baby weight), put them on Ebay in April and made almost the same as what I paid for the items.
I put a note on my listings that though I accept Paypal, I do not accept debit card payments via Paypal and that the transaction must be instant payment from the buyers bank account. This is so I can remain as having a Personal account rather than a Premier account and pay 25% for the transfer of funds! Go and check your Paypal accounts xxxx0 -
You have to laugh I suppose.
Now I've had a buyer withdraw his bid because he can't collect.
My auctions do stipulate (politely) no collections as I work two jobs and keep pretty anti-social hours.
Apparently he didn't read this bit.
And my other buyer who wishes to return an item has emailed me again today asking for my address. In caps. Shouting.
I did email her the address on Sat, but seems it didn't get through.
I don't know why this would be, but don't like the thought of a buyer sitting cursing me when I am giving them the info they need.
Does anyone else offer returns on ebay item? Not sure what the law is on this..Distance Selling etc.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0 -

Job lot of 6 old, broken & VERY SCRATCHED mobile phones - £13.95 + P&P
Nokia 6230i which doesn't work and has scratched fascia - £31!!!!!!!!
I make hand-made jewellery, so have used the proceeds of this to go towards materials on eBay for my first craft sale coming up in August. There are some real beady bargains I can tell you! Swarovski crystals cost me £2.49 for 24 in Hobbycraft - I have been buying 100 for £2.60 a time!!!
Anyone else had any decent sales recently??? xxx0 -

It's actually only 25p per withdrawal under £50 (not 25%), also if you withdraw £50 or more it's free
Also, does anyone know why people buy gift vouchers and pay more for them than their value????0 -
