I have booked flights on Air France from Heathrow to San Francisco via Paris CDG airport. Never flown Air France before or to CDG, so wanted to know what is this airline like and what is CDG like for connecting flights. Thanks

I am a truly picky flyer, however, we went with Air France from Heathrow to Paris and they were amazing, the staff were so helpful and kind. I would love to fly with them again.0

I fly airfrance often and they are as good as any.
CDG is quite large. Find out the two terminals involved and then look on the CDG web site. They have a map.
It is easy to transfer. Make sure you check the bags all the way through to SF.

I flew Edinburgh to San Francisco via CDG last year with Air France. Service was fine, very similar to KLM if you've ever flown them, (They are both the same airline), although the food wasn't as good as KLM's. I prefer flying KLM, but would fly the Air France route again if it was an option.0

Sorry - I have found them to be awful !
CDG is a shambles (nice architecture though) and they seem to be trying to move this shambolic system to their check ins at Heathrow0 -
yep have to agree, CDG is the worst airport we have ever flown through. might be better when they eventually finish the building work but the smaller flights land so far away from the airport and it can take over 30 mins just to get from the bus to the airport.0

Air France is improved to what it used to be but CDG is not goodtravelover0

Yeah CDG is awful from my experience and I really dont rate Air France either."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

OH flew to Brazil with Air France last year and thought they were very good. We normally fly with BA or American carriers and he rated them better than those.0

Here is a report I did on my flight last year to Abu Dhabi:

Do a search on the sight and there will be other AF reports as well

As a carrier, AF are OK, but no better than OK, but they are cheap and you get what you pay for.
As for CDG, I know the airport well and it has to be the worst major airport in the world to transit through, awful, just awful and for those unfamiliar with the airport, it's fully worse than that!
Then of course there are the security staff who are without doubt the rudest people ever to grace an airport terminal.
