Don't understand; why did you pay for anything you didn't receive? Know Avon is quite happy for you to pay your invoice in full and then they'll credit you on your next invoice for any returns/missing items, but I train my team to be pro-active re. their accounts and if they are shorted or know they are returning items they deduct that amount from the o/s invoice and pay the nett amount.

    Is your experience recent?

ps: If your account is in credit when you ceased being a rep, Avon will send you a cheque i.e. if you ask. Don't know if there's a time limit tho.

Why not offer a 'Bargain Box' to a company where you have customers? Obviously, you need to trust them but if they were freebies to start with then you're not risking much. Just price everything up, put a list in with them (keep a copy obviously), leave it for a week or so, collect and hopefully some of your bargains will have been converted to cash. :T

Alternatively, if you have a local club or charity shop you could do the same and offer them 10% for club/charity funds. Up to you what price you charge....

I actually passed them on to my sister so she could sell them online for her business. They cost me nothing and she gave me things for free when I first started so it seemed like a win win. ;)

Can someone give me some advice please? A customer rang me and has asked if she can return a watch she purchased a while ago. She's saying it keeps falling off her wrist & she can't change the time on it. After a while of digging through my invoices I finally discovered she bought it during campaign 11 last year which was June (I'm now on campaign 8!). I'm going to get it back from her and give her a full refund (£22) but, if there is something wrong with it how do I return it to Avon? This is the same customer who wanted to return half of a gift set because she didn't want to use it

Faulty watch - you can ring up for a credit if it's faulty and over 90 days.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Thanks. I got a voicemail from her today saying she had called customer services and had been told I would be able to refund her for it and I should call her back to say when I would be picking it up! I told her when she called 8pm gone Wednesday night I'd get back to her but it would take me a day or two as I was extremely busy and I needed to find the original order form since she didn't know when she'd ordered it. Between work all day Thursday (14 hour day by the time I'd done everything!) then yesterday and today I've been ridiculously busy sorting stuff for my daughters birthday (she's 13 today) and having family round to celebrate I just haven't had the time to call the help line! I suppose I should be grateful it wasn't another 11pm phonecall like I've had from her in the past, but I wish she'd realise that I don't live and breathe Avon 24/7 and I can't just drop everything to do her bidding.

There are times when I'd love to drop her as a customer as she causes more hassle than all my other 50+ customers put together, but every time I try to discretely drop her (as I've done with a number of now black listed customers in the past) she's "caught" me and being too nice for my own good I give her the next book as I can't work out a polite way of telling her no more. :o

Just wanted to say  to everyone, I'm still around. Avon has been quite slow this year with sales down and the brochures dont seem to be inspiring my customers. Have lost a couple since the New Year (one declined future brochures after a couple of years and one terminally ill) but gained a couple more from books left at a shop.

Not pleased about this reduction in returns time. We'll all need to be a bit sharp on our toes to keep within the timeframe. Gutted about not being able to return from clearance items. Personally I never used them as gifts but I did like to buy for myself and I dont want to be stuck with something which I dont like 'in the flesh', doesn't fit or just doesn't suit.

Hope you're all having a better year :D

    Hi ladies,
Haven't posted on this thread in a long time but I'm an avid lurker!

Has anyone ever had an 'Avon' table at a spring fair on any other event for that matter! Was it a success and what type of stock did you sell? Are there any Avon rules that I need to abide by or is it all just common sense. I'd be the only Avon table so it would be an opportunity to pick up some new customers in the area.
Any advise would be really appreciated!! I haven't said a definite yes yet as I wanted to get some feedback from ladies who've done it.
My SL has given me some useful advise already but if anyone can add to that I'd be grateful.
    Thanks in advance. :)

Money maker.... My sales have been down too and I'm not sure why. :( I may try and do a recanvass of my area before the next campaign.

FL Clearance returns - Trading Standards have been informed about this change and are currently looking into it. Even though Avon says it's a business-to-business transaction, the argument is that distance selling rules should still apply. I.e. if we can't see, touch, try on things before purchase, how can we have no right to return?

Trading Standards have already been involved in the "return of single brochure" issue. We're now able to return them again.
