Finally got round to going to one of those Your Avon Meetings today... Only by chance it wasn't a complete waste of time... was running 10.30 - 11.30... I was the only one agreed to go at that time! Someone else said they would be there 11.30 and she was going to see others in the afternoon. So I don't know what it was really supposed to be about still! But she did swap some of my territory for me :D I now have 2 proper streets, gotta drive quite a way to get there, but probably the same I'd be doing going round and round in circles with the ones I had before.
And she gave me some more books to get started with :)
I did get the have you thought of becoming a SL line... but just said I'd give it a think... but I don't think so.

I'm going to one of those meetings next week so will be fascinated to see what its going to be all about. Our new ASM seems quite keen and enthusiastic (praying she stays) and is doing these meetings every campaign now it seem so will be nice to see what her thoughts will be for the future etc.
I also did my first pamper evening last Thursday and had a stall. Wasn't hugely busy and didn't sell a lot (£13.50 total sold so covered my pitch fee) but gave out a few brochures so hopefully these might turn into potential customers in the future. Was more of a laugh and get together with wine and gossip etc so was a good night regardless lol.
How is everyone else getting on its gone rather quiet on here lately x

I guess like mine it will depend how many go.... there was only me there at the right time so any script went out of the window and it was more of a chat... :/

Ok i need some much needed advice as confused and not sure there is any point in carrying on if this is the "NORM".
I am doing a ladies pamper evening in March and I have been watching a thread on facebook regarding what to do or take to such an evening. The first response was "make sure the organiser has personal liability for you or have it yourself"
I questioned this as to why i would need this for these nights and not on a regular basis meaning what is so special about this and the comment back was "you should have public liability".
Ok I sort of get why you may need this as a 'business' but seriously how can anyone make any money out of Avon with all these business requirements if you are only doing it as a hobby sort of not as a main source of income?
Im so confused now and questioning if this is something I should have (never mentioned by asm's or my sl ever) then maybe there is honestly no money in avon unless you are prepared to do it as a full time occupation which I just dont want to do.
I earn a nice little sum each campaign enough to put away for a rainy day but not something as big as a standard job so really questioning if i should bother anymore or not. I wont make much at all if i have to do the insurances etc just to 'cover my !!!!' as you would say.
What does everyone else do pls?

Maybe this is why Avon suggested 'Get Togethers' instead of parties? Have always thought it was the effort/hassle aspect but maybe not....

If your venue is a club/licensed premises then wouldn't you be covered by their PLI? If not, little tip, all ASMs are covered for Personal Liability so why not invite her? ;)

First campaign of 2014 for me and it was below average as normal. I also got my 'anniversary' gift, another handbag which I don't like. :rotfl:

I have loads of old stock which have been freebies which I haven't been able to pass on, but its odd bits and pieces so don't want to use them as gifts for customers, especially as most of it is no longer in any of the books. Does anyone else have this? Any ideas what I can do with it? I was thinking of selling it on a well known auction site, but I'm not keen on their new fee system where they take a cut of the postage charged as well

Why not offer a 'Bargain Box' to a company where you have customers? Obviously, you need to trust them but if they were freebies to start with then you're not risking much. Just price everything up, put a list in with them (keep a copy obviously), leave it for a week or so, collect and hopefully some of your bargains will have been converted to cash. :T

Alternatively, if you have a local club or charity shop you could do the same and offer them 10% for club/charity funds. Up to you what price you charge....

Still bit unsure if I want to go down the Sales Leader route now just not sure if I will have the time. If anyone here is a SL could you please confirm some bits for me.
    1. My SL says she will pay for all the new books for anyone I get signed up. Is this true or will this be not an ongoing thing. She was not very clear on this and not sure if she was just saying that to get me to start as a SL.
    2. Im hoping to go back to some sort of work not sure full or partime come September when my little one goes to school but dont want to start being a SL if it might have an impact on carrying on the SL come September. Any ideas how much time you really need to spend as I will still want to continue with my regular rounds.
Need an unbias opinion from all who wont be making money off my sales :P

Hope everyone has had a great start to the year x

Haven't been on here for ages (but I still mention this thread to my new reps when I sign them up; it started before Avon Connects and I still think it more useful! :rotfl:) Am ASL and can certainly offer you unbiased advice! PM or email me if you like but essentially the success of SLship depends very much on the support of your upliner and where you live e.g. if you're in a city then, theoretically, it should be easier than if you live in a tiny village.

Your upliner should provide everything you need for your first two campaigns of recruiting, the idea being that by then you'll be qualified. As you probably now know the system is changing in C12 - hopefully Avon got the message that SLs on the first tier really don't earn enough to compensate for the required effort. If you're a later mailplan it could still be worth you considering i.e. depending on your upline support, as you'll receive £25 for every rep you recruit when/if they place their second order..... So.... theoretically, up to C8 if you can recruit 6 new reps you're in with a chance of getting £150, everything provided and being a qualified SL. :)

Sorry if the advice is too late. TBH am only just getting over the Titanic effect of January and Avon then very much went on the back-burner due to my personal life.

Good luck - whatever you decide.

Did you have a good, supportive upliner? Am guessing not. Avon really can be very useful/helpful both to those struggling to make ends meet and especially to those customers, who look forward to a visit/chat/getting their toiletries etc. delivered free to their door.

I appointed two new team members last w/e - both their mum's used to be reps. In one case the mum was present; she was amazed at the difference between her 'training' experience and her daughter's.

You definitely shouldn't be out of pocket doing Avon; OK, as a rep you won't earn a huge amount (and I tell everyone I recruit the same) but there are ways to maximise your earnings e.g. any rep only earning 25% discount is definitely not doing it right in my book.
