And a big aaarrrgggghhh!!! Been to collect books today - I always have a quick peek to make sure if I have any orders and all the names etc are on the form ... Unpack them all and a cheeky order in there with no name or address and an illegible signature!!!!!
Now I have to do some detective work to cross off those I know it isn't and go back and knock on doors probably looking like a right idiot in the process :-) fabulous!!!0 -
Morning to all - can anyone on here help me to confirm my assigned streets. COntacted Avon and been passed back to my sales leader but no joy there either. She just doesn't respond to calls, texts or emails. I am area 244.
Thanks

Just been and collected my 20 books and I've only got 4 unaccounted for. I suppose that's quite good?
Wondering how many books you all order usually? I have approx 120 houses to canvas next campaign. I was thinking of getting 30, does that sound ok?What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
purplesarah81 wrote: »Hi, thinking of joining Avon as I am currently on Maternity leave, red through a lot of this thread but can't find out anywhere how much the brochures cost. Also, on average how many people tend to place orders?
The brochures cost:
£3.15 for 5
£4.22 for 10
£4.86 for 15
£5.36 for 20
Then it's 50p for every 5 books on top of that. So as you can see, the more you order the lower the cost per brochure gets.
These stats are just my personal experience. I've been lucky to be working an area where a good proportion of people like Avon and there was plenty of free area available to me. Plus, touch wood!, no poaching or straying reps.
Customer rate: 18% of my total number of allocated houses are currently customers. Another 5% use another rep (so at least the interest is there, I just have to wait until their rep stops). I have more people who used to be customers but they asked me to stop calling. A minority of those 18% are people who haven't ordered for a very long time (six months to a year).
Each campaign, between a third to just under half of my total customer base places an order. The "just under half" campaigns aren't the norm - usually at times like the run-up to Christmas.
Were you thinking of doing Avon just for the maternity leave period? If that's six months or less you might not get the very most out of your territory (through canvassing) because territory is a long game. If the plan is for Avon to be short-term, you might find it easier to just do friends and family and people you'd meet anyway. This might also be a lot more practical with a baby!
You'll also need to look into how your Avon will effect any maternity money/benefits etc...I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Even though you go a really good rate back with the first lot, 30 sounds a bit low considering they'll need to be used 4, 5, 6 times each. Those first 30 that go out won't all come back, and with each outing the number that get returned will go down and down. You'll be having to call back repeatedly at houses and it could be stressful towards the end.
Even if you want to get 2 or 3 uses out of each brochure, give them to reliable people first, and use the last lot for unknowns so it doesn't matter if they don't come back.
Also, use backorder books for the ones you're not sure about or the ones who never return.
Personally I just split the round into current and backorder, then make sure I have 1 book for 1 house/person. No worries, and I can prep them in one session and know no-one will be missed out.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. Thanks I, Geek for replying. I was considering splitting into two rounds from my next campaign, but I'm gonna hold off doing that until after my holiday in July because I wouldn't have time to sort it all out and I only have 20 books for my first campaign. As it is, I've only been able to canvass about a third of my allocated houses with these books with giving ppl 2 days to browse.
I think I'll go with 40 books and see how I do.
I'm considering asking for more streets in July and then I'll start those new streets off on a backorder campaign.
Does anyone go into local shops, hairdressers, etc? Not sure how to present myself. Feel a bit nervous. Do you just give them to put in their staff rooms with a few order forms? What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
I'm sure there have been threads on here before, but I've had a call from Avon this evening, trying to get me to buy the next Money Maker. She was really quite aggressive and not at all happy that I said 'no'.
Now, I've already taken my phone number off my details and have also said I didn't want to be bothered with these rubbish calls.
Does anyone have any other ideas please?
Thanks.0 -
On the Connects forum I've found Helen@Avon and Tess@Avon (two of the moderators, who are Avon employees) to be very good at passing queries over to the right department within Avon. It seems like the best way compared to going to your ASM or emailing their generic email.
You could just add one of them as a friend, then PM them and ask them to pass your complaint over to the right person, or start a thread because you might find others have had the same experience.
If you can get reassurance that your phone number's off their tele-sales list, I'd put it back on your profile if you want to increase your chances of getting customer leads. Your phone will show on the "find a rep" search and you could lose out if people want to ring a new rep direct. Be aware that this might open you up to sales calls from other companies because it's now public information. I've never had any calls, though.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. I used to get bothered with money maker calls and asked them to stop and after second time I asked they did. I have also removed ny telephone number from connects as i was fed up with peeps calling me at 5am while on holiday in AMerica . Never had any calls that led to anything and it was before they sorted names so that you could find nearest rep . never had calls when I wasn't on holiday but 3 times last year I had calls . One was from Avon ! TBh i am not bothered about missing potential leads my tel no is ex directory and I certainly didn't want it out there for anyone to see .I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0

Ok, thank you both. Will try and sort it. Had a call on my work mobile whilst at work which wasn't appreciated. Always rubbish offers anyway. Even when I made it clear that I only do F&F, only sell Anew Platinum skin care, she still wittered on about my taking 12 MMs as it was such a great deal.
Puts me off to be honest.0
