    Well well well

After 28 years of being a avon rep, with a 2 year break, avon never ever fail to dissapoint.

Just received my c 18 order, and over £150 of shorts.........year in year out, same old story.

Ruby Collection Handbag Shaped Scarf Holder
Red Sparkle Handbag Shaped Gift Set
    Red Sparkle Notebook and Pen
    Colour Changing Clock
ColorTrend Dazzlers Top Coat Gold Flecked
ColorTrend Dazzlers Top Coat Fuchsia Dazzle
    Luxury Vanity Case

I just haven't got a clue why my customers order from me each year, i used to put a sticker on the front of the book and say,

"as per usualy this is avon, so i can NOT guarantee if your products will arrive. Sorry."

this year i didn't, i now have to go to people to tell them there christmas presents will not be arriving. Or maybe they will in another 2 weeks time.....................................fuming
  • Hi, back again-looking for some advice re an allergy someone has had-
the client contacted Avon directly (not sure when as only got told today when I contacted them to get my 2nd campaign book back) to say she'd had a reaction-I contacted my sales leader for some help to see whether I need to do anything else other than refund and send back (with free products) and all she said was contact Avon (!)
I have contacted Avon (which seems very long winded!) but really I just want to see if I should just collect product from client and refund and return or if I need to await Avon to contact me/her first to see if they need me to do anything else?! Not sure what I am expecting really!

Sorry if the above seems a bit confusing!
  • I've never had this scenario Lydia but would expect Avon to sort it out directly with the customer rather than using a rep as a go between. Perhaps when you next see the customer you can ask her if she got it sorted out with Avon?

You too, Brown Owl? My next order goes in on monday and I've got some of these items due in from shorts on C18

I am keeping very close tabs on it and have spoken to my customers advising them that as soon as I can see my invoice online, I can let them know if something is definately not going to turn up. Extra work for us but the customers appreciate good comms and will be grateful to me if a bit cross with avon.

  • Thanks Moneymaker-never thought of them dealing with it directly to be honest! Will see what happens as I don't mind being the go between as long as I know where I stand and where the customer stands if you know what I mean

Just collect the products (and free gifts etc) ASAP and give a full cash refund. Take details about the nature of the reaction and apologise. Explain that product sensitivity is a personal thing and 99.999% of product users are so happy with their purchase that they continue to buy it on a regular basis. Unlike your usual returns, you will have to call Avon to get the item credited to your account. In this case you don't physically return the item until Avon follow-up your credit with a phonecall (to you or the customer) from a more specialist internal dept, to find out more about the nature of the reaction. If there are any problems (eg Avon refund you, then recharge you by a mistake, because you haven't returned the item which you're not supposed to do with items that cause a reaction) then just call your Rep helpline and explain, and you WILL be recredited. Ie, keep an eye on your account balance: mistakes can happen and its important that you don't lose out after giving the customer their refund in full.
Its a shame when this happens. But that's the nature of the business, its happened to me once. The important thing is that you give a refund ASAP and Avon are able to find out a bit more about the nature of the reaction, to see if its anything sinister going on. There's no reason why your customer should react to other Avon products so as long as you continue to provide a good service, they should remain a customer.
  • Thanks alexlg, will contact her tomorrow and see if I can go and collect and offer refund I can then deal with Avon myself without her being out of pocket
    Thanks :)

Well thats me now. Finally finished with Avon. Have done my tax return and my actual earnings were £40 January to October ok so I only had friends and family and I did every other camp but it jst wasnt working for me anymore.
When I emailed my ASM she asked why I was leaving and if there was anything she could do to make me stay. I said why I was going e.g. crap SLs and ASLs, Avon messing up orders, call centte staff being rubbish, Avon never replying to emails and could go on.
    She never replied.
Sad really when there are some really fantastic ASMs, SLs and ASLs on here who kept me going longer than my actual ones did!
Gives Avon a bad name imo.

It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world
  • Well, I have just been out to drop some more C18 brochures to go towards the next order. Not bothering with C1 brochures, may as well use the C18 that my SL gave me for nothing as I don't seem to get many of them back. ALso went to collect about 15 books and got about 7 back with no orders. I have 2 small orders to put in tomorrow but one of them is from my mum!! Nowhere near the commission threshold so not a great start. ANy ideas??

Are there any wax strips in C18? Someone has written wax strips on their order form but no page number/item code. I've searched the book but can't find any. Any ideas?

    Try looking for numbers 99457 or 62133 in C18, £1.99 :)

Its a shame you've had a bad experience with Avon Sales Leaders (your Upline/s?) but as regards how much money you made - what were you expecting, if you're only doing friends and family and putting in an order every other campaign? That sounds more like a hobby, not a job! You should also factor in the cost-price items you've been able to buy yourself. :)
