    Hi,

Haven't had the early ordering email but is usually a chance to order early. You wont receive your delivery earlier so it's something I usually give a miss.

Check out the first post of this thread where Lozza has posted links to ebrochures. There are some Christmassy bits in C15 but would suggest waiting for C16 as there is a Christmas supplement bit in the middle of the brochure.

It gets a bit messy near Christmas depending on your area. I manage to get C18 and C1 before Christmas but give C2 a miss and swing straight into C3. C1, C2 and C3 (maybe even C4) are shorter campaigns and work on a two week turnaround so can be hectic.

think im gonna try some other houses with my c14 books and back order from c15 to see if i get any orders just to try and make it to £500 earnings in the first 3 campaigns so i get the free goodies.

My c18 & c1 generally fall just before Xmas, with c2 being due in end of December/start of January. Different areas are different though. Generally, c17 is the last 'proper' Xmas issue, and c18/c1 have a parry' theme - think lots of make-up for going out. If you log into your account, then go to my account & order & delivery dates that will let you check further ahead what your order & delivery dates are for the next few campaigns. I generally don't completely miss any campaign, round the short campaigns I just don't deliver a book to everyone, just the people I think are generally going to want to order/those that wont be a pain to deliver to!

    Christmas canvassing

If you're working a new territory or doing a recanvas I'd recommend cracking on with that before the Christmas campaigns themselves. This will help to establish yourself before that important time of year. Imagine it's November/early December and you get your first Avon brochure ever/in a while and it has Christmas items in. You're interested but you have no history with the rep and don't know they're reliable. At least if you can have called a couple of times (even if there's no order) beforehand you're building confidence and the potential customer might have met you in person on those occasions as well. That way, by the time the Christmas brochures arrive, they're much more confident to order from you.

I did a recanvas recently so I'm going back to those houses (who weren't responsive) during C17, C18 and C1. Each house will get a brochure for 3 campaigns unless they let me know to stop. That's kind of contradicting what I said above :o but the timing is because I recanvassed over the summer and it's just too soon to go back. But at least this tactic has me going back there consistently over 3 campaigns - again important to establish reliability and stick-ability.

If I had a new territory I'd definitely crack on now with the intention of canvassing all the way up to and including Christmas.

I started as a rep in C14 2010 and I think that was helpful to build the customer base and trust before Christmas spending actually started. If I'd started in C17 it might not have been as good a response.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

    evening ladies,

thank you for the answers above i think i made some sense out of them lol

Managed to hit my hov again on c14 , split half online doing c14 and half back orders on my territory on c13 so pleased with that as only managed about 20 customers all together.
Thing is i recently had an email from my sales leader asking about my territory etc saying Avon usually expect a % of customers from a certain amount of houses you are given, does this mean they think im not doing it well enough??? Im out every week, come rain or shine, i have done offers, introduction slips, door knocking etc etc, some people have had 3/4 books and not ordered but still i carry on, I have decided to do a steadyish c15 tho as i really dont want to make them fed up with me lol, I have 2 new roads added which i didnt know about so i shall drop there and hope to pick up newbies. One of my customers who usually orders minimum of £40 didnt order this time and i missed that big time as it would have put me over the £300 mark x

  • They use a percentage based on the number of customers reps claim to have when they place their orders. I don't think they're using it as any reflection on you. Perhaps she was just seeing how you were getting on, rather than having a go. :)

Any SLs here - remember that your Rising Stars 2 Reps will need to place an MOV order through to their 6th campaign for you to get the SL payment (reduced MOV in condensed campaigns).

    Customer rate

Very strangely, and unbelievably, Avon says 1 in 3 houses on every single street in the UK is going to be a customer. If you've seen the projected figures for your territory you'll notice every street works out the same. 9 houses = 3 customers, 20 houses = 6-7 customers. They vary the spends, but not the customer rate.

However I haven't found this has had an effect on my business. I.e. I haven't had my streets given to someone else or been told I must get higher sales and more customers. I spoke to my previous ASM last year and she said very low sales and ordering too few books would be a warning sign, but even then they'd try to help before removing streets altogether. And even though I'm in bronze PC and will get in again this year, my sales and customer totals aren't what's expected - nowhere near.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
