I just use folders to put my receipts etc in, then type them up into a spreadsheet on excel so it adds them up for me, I did do it with pen and paper the first time so you don't need anything fancy to do it.

I just use excel as well. But then I have to submit mine to the local council as well (claiming low income benefits) so I need to be able to print various variations out since I like to have it sorted per campaign, council wants it per month and for tax reasons I need it per financial year :rotfl: Copy/paste/cut have become my best friends ;) My only problem is remembering to update it :o

Hi-I signed up as a Sales Leader just before Christmas but am not enjoying it at all.I love being a Rep,my team dwindled rapidly after Christmas and I don't have the time needed to get it back up.I'm going to just give all my time to being a Rep and quit as a Sales Leader.I really had no idea what I was letting myself in for.I think Sales Leadership can be a great opportunity for the right people-just not me.

    Hi Niclon,

I think if you love being a rep and not a SL then you're right, you should put your efforts into doing what you enjoy.

I'm considering Sales Leadership, do you mind me asking why you don't enjoy it and how it differed to what you expected?

Can anyone else talk me through the ins and outs of being a SL?

    Thanks,

    Ruth

Hi Ruth.I found that it was difficult for me personally to get a team together-I thought I'd be able to convince family and friends to join me as reps easily but didnt manage to get 1 person I knew to join me.I went canvassing with 2 of my upliners and really hated it.I'm good with people once I know them but am not someone that finds it easy trying to convince strangers to join me.I also found there was a lot of pressure on me to maintain set levels of sales.January has been my most difficult month for sales and members of my team didn't pay Avon the money owed from the last Christmas order which put a dampener on things for me.I think if you could get 5 plus people that you know to start as a rep then you could be off to a good start.
There are lots of bonuses to be made if you can maintain your team sales and keep adding to your team.
I hope this helps.Good luck to you if you do decide to become a Sales leader I think its something I'd have found easier to do in a few years time once my children are older and all at school fulltime.(Mine are currently 1,2,4,9 and 12 years old)

  • Hi MarsdenCuckoo, thanks again for all of your advise. I will follow your advise and try to avoid conflict. To be honest my regular customers are very loyal and I know they will stick with me anyway and when I re canvassed not long ago got very little new interest so the new rep may well decide its not worth it. Thanks again you have been really helpful at a time when I was getting a little stressed. Keep posting everyone this forum is really useful!

I am not a SL but reading this thread and the one previous will give you a good insight into the problems and benefits of SL'ship. I know that's what put me off anyway:D

I've always thought that avon should leave the pushing for SL's until at least the fourth campaign after signing up instead of within the first three. Time after time on here, we find disheartened SL's who were persuaded too soon after joining. Unless there is excellent support (think MC) it's just too much too soon.

    My thoughts, anyway.

Will reply properly at the weekend about sl stuff, but no it doesn't suit everyone and certainly to begin with you're doing a lot of work for little/no return. however I'm glad I've stuck with it as even though I've not recruited since June (should be signing someone tonight, fingers crossed!) but I've still be earning from my team in that time. (though I've not recruited obviously I still helped the team I had, I just didn't spend any time trying to expand).

Don't suppose anyone has any newer brochure links?

There are plenty on Connects who would agree with you. Every-so-often a few of us will advise to wait until you're confident as a rep (having sales easily over £148) and/or express shock that an upline thinks it's a good idea to sign someone up as a SL straight away. It falls on deaf ears, though. I've noticed this with general advice about repping as well. I recently walked away from a discussion with a new rep because they just didn't want to make the most of their allocated streets. A long-term rep who may also have high sales is talking from experience but someone who's done it for 2 weeks knows better... I'm not saying the word of every long-serving/PC rep should be bowed down to because we still do things differently from each other, but time and again on Connects there's just no acknowledgement from some new sign-ups that we might have an idea of what we're talking about.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
