Morning all
Hope you are all well, lovely morning here. Had a bit of a lie-in this morning and I feel a bit more with it. The manager of the agency I went to yesterday wasn't that encouraging but I will persevere as I know there is life outside the NHS.
Hi new peeps:wave:.
Have stripped the bed and it's washing, will hang it on the line in a mo. Plan today to crack on with the garden. Tea tonight is leftovers, also need to go to the farm shop for veg.

Flutterbyuk, my mum also has a B12 deficiency and takes Omega 3 as well, she doesn't eat meat or fish but the injections seem to sort her out.
Lou sounds painful have a ((hug))
Reddoe sorry your feeling rubbish, have a lazy day
Well the house looks like world war 3 which is stressing me out cos I like it tidy. It will just get worse when DS1 and GF arrive on Monday. I am just going to have to chill and try and go with it.
Today will be a mass clean up and lots of washing to dry. I need to get middle sons bedroom ready for DS1 for Monday and move middle son into the single bedroom.
I also need to do a food inventory, not sure where I am up to or what we have in which is also stressing me out.
Oh well good start as DH won £17 on the euro lottery last night.
Roll on October when they will have all moved out again:eek:

Compost Heap Jelly
makes 3 x 225gr jars
500g apple cores and peel
500g citrus fruit peel cut into 1cm shreds
granulated sugar (see below)
1.5 litre water
Juice of 1 citrus fruit (optional)
Put apple cores, peel and citrus peel in saucepan with water. Bring to simmer and cook slowly for 45-60mins. Turn into jelly bag and leave overnight to drip.
Measure strained liquid and weigh out 450g of sugar for every 600ml of juice. add fruit juice if using. Bring liquid to boil, add sugar, stir until dissolved, then boil rapidly without stirring until setting point is reached - approx 10 mins
Remove from heat and stir until all surface bubbles have disappeared. Pour into jars and tap to remove any remaining bubbles. Seal and use within a year.
I found this on the 'Really Old Style Livivng thread' I can't remember who posted it originally I'm afraid.

Good morning all
Hester compost heap jelly looks good.
Aargh OH and Ds have their heads in the loft.........a tip trip is imminent! We are decluttering stuff put up there when DD went to Japan-at least 4 years ago as well as other stuff. I even have a tin trunk up there from when I went to college. We are going to have our loft insulated-one of these £199 jobbies sponsored by the energy companies. Also our first ever boot sale looms-any tips folks?
Oh well OH is ready for the tip trip so off we go!
See you laters.

Like the idea of compost heap jelly. Just wondering if it would work with sweetener instead of sugar, to make it a low carb/calorie jelly?
Anniestar how is your broken wrist doing? Maybe get Mark to let us know how you are doing?
Today I am being lazy(what's new there then I hear). DH is playing with the caravan, seperating off part of a cupboard, I should have put some washing in earlier, but it can wait until tomorrow as another dry day is forecast. Just have the darks left, and DH will have more after "playing" today. House is clean and reasonably tidy, I have got a piece of gammon out for lunch tomorrow, I don;t need to bake as I would be tempted to eat it, and there is half a fruit cake left which will do DH for a while. I should get some paperwork out and scan sort it, trying to raise the enthusiasm as I type
Need to get organised as now off down to London on Thursday to help DS & GF get settled in their new flat, they exchanged contracts yesterday, will finalise on Friday and need to be out of their rented flat by the 31st. Then we are off in the 'van to the East Coast and Lincolnshire on the following Thursday for 11 days. Maybe I should start sorting clothes out for the first trip.;)
Oh by the way my nephew found this caravan/chalet site near Great Yarmouth, which was very reasonable, and is more of a quiet site, than a Haven. The caravans were clean too.
Just going to have a coffee with DH, so take care all, (((hugs))), Hi-5's, Spoons, and Positive Vibes all round. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning everyone.
Been a bit dramatic round thes parts lately. As of about 10pm last night we have an emergency lodger. It's a young colleague of DH, who had to do a flit from the psycho housemate from hell. He rang our landline last night, and DH went to pick him up while I put clean sheets on in the spare room and did a flying tidy up. Poor lad - looked knackered and shaken.Nothing had actaully happened, but apparently PHFH was squaring up a fight, and was possibly armed.
One cup of tea, and several phone calls to his gf and parents later, he looked a lot better. He's 250 miles from home, having grown up in my home town and went to my school (albeit some time after me!) He's not a comlete stranger, I've met him in the pub a few times with DH ,and he's WYSIWYG - nice, calm, hard-working and good with cats.
His parents 'flew' down this morning in about 3 hours flat (hope the speed cameras were on the blink), and after a chat and a cup of tea, they've gone off to get his stuff, and start looking for a new place to live. His mum admitted that she'd barely slept last night. Theyy're unbelievably grateful and relieved, but the thing is, it was a complete no-brainer.Surviving the ups and downs of life with DH

Hello Peeps
You guys could be just what I need to get me motivated a bit more. Today I have got up at a decent hour and started as I meen to go on. My list so far;
* Donated 2 bags of clothes to local chazza shop. (meaning to do this for a few weeks)
* Had a lovely long shower and washed my hair (Before DD was up)
* Listed everything in my dumping ground of a freezer on a spreadsheet
* Picked up the days shopping, rather than just asking OH to nab it for me
I still have lots of things to do but I feel a lot better having got those first few things out the way.
I need some ideas of what to do with plums, apples and pears. But not jam or chutney ideas because my mum and me will be having out annual jam-a-thon next week. I'm thinking crumbles, possibly some apple cake and pears in brandy. Anyother ideas?

Morning all, sorry afternoon all,
Another one just sneaking in the back door, I don't usually post but read every day, I just cannot do without my MSE 'fix', it really cheers me up, and I tend to sneak peaks from work, lol, one of these days I will get caught.
Not much going on here for a Saturday, teenagers still in bed, been into town to collect OH new bike, following a call from the shop that it was ready. When we got there, it was still in the box, still in bits, they were to put it together before we collected it. He is doing a half Ironman Challenge early next month and needs the bike yesterday...complete waste of a morning. Got to go back in later, hate town on a busy Saturday, parking is impossible, and the traffic and crowds really bother me, but hey ho, has to be done.
OS wise, DW cycle finished and DW emptied, about to take clothes off the airer and put them away, will try to get ironing done at some stage. DS coming down about lunch time with DGS, so more mouths to feed, better pull something out of the freezer, which reminds me, need to buy bread at some stage today. Right now, sitting with the lappy and a cup of coffee, OH nodding off on the couch, one of the dogs sitting between us, oh well.
JackieG, laughing at your 'fat fingers', I have the same problem with new phone, have you tried the 'Slide IT' keyboard, I find it brilliant, not so many mistakes and fast too.
Hugs, spoons and Hi 5's all round, keep well and safe everyone.

Afternoon all! late one from me today, i spent the morning sleeping in. OH and I had a fight last night and he's gone off to work (in MY car!) in a mood not talking to me, i'm not talking to him either. He loves to take his bad moods out on me and i just can't be bothered with it right now....he told me to move out!!
so he's at work, i've cleaned the house and am settled for a day in front of the telly, phone is turned off and i am going to relax!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
