As a member of a couple of AV-related forums, I've noticed lots of favourable owner-user reviews of Toshiba's LCD TVs -- they seem superior to unknown-brand TVs churned out by supermarkets etc.
Playcom is offering this 32" widescreen for £589. Seems a good price for a Tosh:

We've got this TV, excellent picture quality, great for sports, great to watch anywhere around the room and really good sound quality too, also great connectivity with scarts and 2 hdmi connections. Got ours for £900 when first came out from a local retailer, £500-£550 is a absolute bargain for one of the best LCD TV's on the market really.CARLISLE UNITED FC SUPPORTER

£606 delivered. That's £100 more for freeview.
My experience of built-in freeview tuners tells me I'd far rather spend that £100 on a Freeview PVR.0 -
No dobt the picture wont be quite as good but my local Tesco current has a 32" LCD TV (made up brand) with hdmi port, 2x scart etc for 399.99
They also have a Goodmans 27" with hdmi etc for 349.990 -
*shudders* have you had a close look at the tesco one? I was considering it but then I thought I'd see what the picture was like on the other channels....except I could only go one way because the "channel +" button was broken. Hardly a surprise because I've seen better buttons on £4.99 mp3 players.
Basically my impression was that the picture was bad, the build quality was awful and the design was Ugly (with a capital U).
Might be worth doing a google on it too as the first thing I read about it was a number of people sending it back because it died after a few days.
*If* you can afford it, spend a £100 more and get the Toshiba.

Talk about gratuitous use of semi-naked female in that review. Just going back there to have a read of some other reviews. :rotfl:0 -
This is without doubt a great lcd tv. I have the 32WLT - which has freeview built in. It's won lots of praises by the press - hence 1 of the main reasons for me buying it. I've combined it with a Pioneer DCS360 home cinema system and its fabulous.0
