The duty & vat on a litre of fuel is around 75p
so how he can sell it for 35p is beyond me.
Would you hand over £100 to find out cos I certainly would NOT
Yep, it's a well-known (but not widely-reported) fact that even if BP, Esso, Shell et al actually *gave* their fuel away at the pumps, UK prices would still be amongst the highest in Europe because of the Government's severe taxation. You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
There are a couple of other threads about yon scheme run by 'Motor Vehicle Protection Association'-

Loads of neeburs in the Wee County are signing up for this including maself. I only sign up for sure things and my luck's bound to change after the Fairpak collapse, that pyramid scheme last year, trusting that email bloke that cleared out my bank account, and betting own Alloa Athletic to win the Scottish Cup this year. The Original Wee County Neebur0 -

It would be an interesting fact, apart from the fact it is nonsense.
If the oil companies gave the fuel away unleaded would cost 57p per litre or €0.85 per litre.
The cost of unleaded in Belgium is €1.31, in Germany is €1.23, in Netherlands is €1.31, in Italy is €1.23, in France is €1.17, in Portugal is €1.21, in Denmark is €1.25...
