Great thanks. If I am not offered a refund from the seller or if Nochex won't recover my money then that address will be useful for the Royal Mail claim form. I would rather receive £46 compensation from Royal Mail than nothing at all.
Everytime I have posted items by recorded delivery the PO told me that they are insured up to £34, the compensation must have gone up recently as the website now shows compensation up to a maximum value of 100 x first class stamps.
well i guess you havent posted anything in some time
the basic compensation is always 100 x the cost of a 1st class stamp0 -

I post items reguarly, usually by 2nd class standard or recorded delivery. It's just the PO has never asked the value of the items recently whereas before they would ask if it was over £34.00 which wasn't that long ago. I didnt know a 1st class stamp went up to 46p until I looked at the RM website earlier.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

well its been years since it was 34p0 -
I don't remember the PO ever asking if the value is over £42 which was the compensation cover before the price increase in April 2011. The insurance cover for 2nd class recorded must be 100 2nd class stamps as they always asked if the item was over £34.00, I know the years are flying by but it wasn't that long agoA home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0

Update:
I contacted Nochex and raised a ticket regarding the undelivered item. They replied within 24 hours and contacted the sller on my behalf. I then received a reply from Foxy Locks (7 days after I sent an email!) stating one of their team will track my order and get back to me. I would have thought she/they would track my order before responding to my email so my problem is getting dragged a long.
I sent a reply back asking for a refund for the undelivered item and have just received a reply from Foxy Locks today, asking me to wait until 2nd September to see if the item arrives then email them back. Is this a reasonable time to wait for a refund from the seller? I paid on 11th August and my item was shown as dispatched on the 12th with a Royal Mail tracking number.
Does anyone know if Nochex can help recover my payment? They asked me to contact them if the seller did not resolve this issue within 7 days of them contacting the seller which will be 30th August.
Thanks.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
Nochex have a bit of a repuation for not being buyer friendly, when you used them did you check out what cover you had if it all went wrong?
Worryingly their FAQ does not bring up any results at all if you look for buyer protection, but they seem to imply if you look as a seller that they do not allow chargebacks..you probably need to do more research on their protection.
As for claiming from Royal mail, that will be extremely difficult, do you think the sending company will let you have all the relevant receipts and info about posting to be able to make the claim? Royal Mailr equire the original proof of postage, or recorded dleivery slip to process a claim, you will also need ot provide details of where it was posted and at what time.
As on other threads you consider recorded delivery to be foolproof are you suggesting that the company here is pulling a fast one, as if so I doubt they will be very helpful in that case with supplying the info needed for the RM claim.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I did not look at Nochex buyer protection prior to purchasing as I was hoping it would be a problem free purchase. I was a little hesitant with my order and kept a check on the Facebook fan page to see many happy customers posting daily about their order before I decided to place my order.
I don't know if the seller is pulling a fast one or if my item is lost in delivery. I don't know what to think. All I know is the recorded tracking number gives me this message:
Recorded Signed For™ items are only tracked after the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent first or second class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.
Information on your item is not yet available online.
I have never seen that message before so to me it is like the item has not been posted? When I have posted recorded delivery it has always updated on the website and gave a PO address, time and date the item was posted.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0
