Welcome, and just looking through your signature, you'd be able to get one of your debts down to under £100 with what a game costs, or maybe pay another one off entirely, I think that would be more satisfying than a game you will get bored of in no time :)

Good luck with the challenge and resisting the temptation!
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

Yeah your right there, Im working most of the week so wont have time to play it much. So it doesnt really justify me paying £30-£50 for a game. Where as paying off more debt does !

Ill rent one if I think its worth it. Thanks for the motivation :T

Hi Moozie - Not a bad day here - I can smell the beef roasting (from the 50p ASDA purchases :T ) and am feeling hungrier by the minute.
We're eating early today - usually eat in the evening - as we are visiting relations later.
I'm pleased that I kept within my challenge for this last week - I think next week may be a bit more difficult though, but I'll stick with the £20, and try to do my best.

My partner is a sod for games, as were my kids, new game came out his eyes lit up like a child in a sweet shop. Then I would say 'when would you play on it' he'd state like an hour or whatever that week, and I would say so is £50 an hour worth it! Is it knickers!

Have you tried swapping games with friends for a few weeks etc, my kids do this all the time, they will exchange with a friend or their cousin for a few weeks, we don't buy what someone else has already that can be exchanged for a while. Cheaper than renting. If it does become a real favourite that they will play a lot I may buy it, and when that happens it's a gift for birthday/Christmas etc and usually got cheaply.

I also say they can buy games with money from ones they sell on eBay, but they rarely want to part with them as they like the other one. Trading in they get offered much less and I won't let them.

Hello - another first time challenger here!

I'm going to aim for a £10 limit this week.

Today should be a NSD. The only thing is that I have to go into town with my Mum later, and I found a fiver in a jacket pocket (gotta love it when that happens) and there is a little piece of make up I've wanted for aaaages...must say 'no'! I start a new job tomorrow though...maybe I'll buy it next week as a treat..
Do or do not. There is no try. (Yoda!)

Moozie Sunday to Friday challenge: £5 spent so far £0.

Not many of my friends have Xbox 360s yet, But I might just borrow some of there games for the time being until I spot a bargain or feel I have deserved to treat myself. My budget for this week is £50 so I cant really complete this if I buy a game. And I want to pass the budget rather than play the game.

That's the spirit, cold turkey week as they call it on Spendaholics was my way of kicking my backside into gear, not buying something that week, would it really make a difference to my life is all I thought, I used to go to a shop, fill a basket, then spend another 10 minutes putting most of it back after I thought about it. Even got to a till once and thought, oh no if I buy that I will go over budget, I will have to confess, if I don't whats the point doing it, they rang it into the till (was a book) and I couldn't face handing the money over so said I forgot my money and walked back out, then found out a friend had the book and it was also in the local library. Would have been a waste of £14.

Hello - I'll have a go this week too.
I have 18 quid in my purse and need it to last until Friday evening. I have visitors on Friday and Saturday that may want to go to the pub so if I can last until Friday teatime with this cash I'll be happy!
Only outlay I can foresee is slimming club on Wednesday (4.50!)
I have plenty of food and petrol is budgeted for separately so its only the occasional packet of naughty ciggies to worry about ( I know I should try harder at giving up - have ordered the Allen Carr book)
    January grocery spending - £82.73/ £120
