Good morning lovely DFWs
OK I know I've not slept yet but tomorrow is a busy day as I have the family over for dinner and I wanted to set the target up for the new week
More importantly though, I want to see how everyone did in the first week of 2007!
So here's what we pledged last Sunday and I hope many of you come back to report how you did - good or bad! I have to say we broke the previous record of challengers which was 36 :j
Challenger Amount Actual
So I did quite well last week which is great as I don't usually have as much as £50 for my budget. Will be budgeting £25 for this week and hope for the best
Now for anyone looking in, please feel free to join - the more the merrier  Basically, decide on the amount you want to spend up to from Sunday until the end of the working day on Friday then pledge it here and off we go
The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc
The reason the challenge is up to Friday is that I like to give myself a day off the counting and let my hair down a bit
Right, end of my rambling! Have a good Sunday and a great week and keep it low!

Hi moozie
I'd like to join in this week, please.
As its the first time I have done the weekly challenge, I will say £60, but I am hoping to come in way under this (am fairly confident that I shouldn't need this much if I don't have to include groceries, etc, but want to be on the safe side as its my first week - if I blow it the first time, I'm worried it'll put me off continuing...).

I spent £4.25 in total last week out of my £7 budget so that was good.
I have a budget of £1 for this week (yes, I really do!) so really need a NSD today.
The children want to go to the pictures today which is fine because they got vouchers for Christmas that they can use.

did pretty well for my first ever challenge, spent £60 but this was including the grocery shop and almost £15 of dd's v expensive soya milk (now have most of this weeks milk in stock!)
budget for this week will be £35 for groceries and £25 for spending money
good luck and have a good week!!
vixtress x- prior planning prevents poor performance!
May Grocery challenge £150 136/1500 -
Well, I only spent £3.60 last week on milk, milk and more milk.
Back at school this week though which means that, though I will need less milk, all the after school clubs start back up so will set budget at £10.
Happy budgeting everyone!0 -
Hi
I would like to join too, my challenge is to spend no more than £10.00 this week, will see how it goes, have spent £4.00 this week only, so £10.00 should be enough. Thanx. Good luck to everyone.Debt Free 03.2024!!0 -
I have to put petrol in my car, but that's budgeted for.
Sunday through Friday... hmm, I haven't really thought it through, but I imagine I can get by on £20 or less.Hi, I'm Mich
I won a years supply of Comfort fabric softener in November 2013 - more than half remains...
2015 survey proceeds £115.360 -
Hi Moozie & all,
Blimey I thought it was Monday to Friday, not Sunday to Friday:eek: !!! Yikes - only one 'free day', lol.
Last week was great - well under budget at £31.38 on Friday evening (consisting only of groceries etc for us all)
For now I'm going to stick to the £80 for the week to help me control my grocery budget. The only thing I spent outside of groceries last week was 15p on a freddo (pmt and NEEDED chocolate
) (thank heavens I had Saturday 'free' 'cause I went a bit mad then:o (see yesterdays spend day:cool: )
This thread is helping enormously with keeping track of the spending.... but I now have to learn to resist the temptation to read other threads as I'm on here for hours!!! Still, I'm not spending anything (except electric) am I
Good luck everyone with the week ahead.
Kaz xJanuary '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far
)
Someone burst my bubble and I lost the plot so no idea what I spent now...Other Jan :- Petrol £20.41, Clothes £8.50, House £3.
I will try to work it out.

Well, all the lingerie was on the wrong hangers so I'm only keeping one item

So spent ... £3.10 on lunch Thursday, 90p on some pretty pants so total of £4
Next week, no overtime
so just £5 should do it No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Last week from Monday to Friday I spent nothing - zero - nada until Friday evening when I filled up the car with petrol (and I don't count that in my challenge budget as it is budgeted elsewhere and paid for on a credit card as I need receipts for claiming business mileage)>
Anyway I can't possibly beat that this week! It would be good to match it but rather than set £0 as my target I will go for £8.44 which is the cash in my purse.
Today should be a NSD as I have the family over for lunch so must get on with peeling the veg
Have a great Sunday all you DFWs0
