Does Kwik Fit MOT certificate worth more than other MOT certificates?

I am pleased you have you must be one of the few, however when my daughter took her two and a half year old Mazda BT50 pickup to them because she had a vibration at the front when braking heavily, she was told she needed new discs and pads at a cost of £360.
On checking, the vibration had only occurred when she braked heavily on a very steep downhill, the ABS had cut in. The brakes were checked by a small independent garage who stated there was absolutely nothing wrong with them, it has since passed two MOT's and at the last service the pads were renewed.
That was shocking experience, but I am pretty sure no different from many other independent repairers. If Kwik-Fit were as bad as many are reporting on this thread, why do we not see a multitude of threads about their shoddy skills and poor customer service. Yes, there are one or two, maybe even three or a few more, but not as many threads complaining of service from Joe Bloggs Garage Services. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
My company car scheme used KF for tyres.
There were some I'd willingly take my own car to, and some that were dire. On balance, most were OK.0 -
In my experience of these fast-fit places, none of them have ever tried to take me for a mug and in most cases the work has been fine. My only dodgy experience was at a branch of Central Tyres, where the guy started removing the wheel nuts without jacking up the car (not just loosening them). He was on the last wheel nut, complaining about how tight it was, when I noticed what he was doing and suggested he might want to use a jack...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

There are more posts about the poor quality of work from local independent repairers than there are about Kwik-Fit. There is no evidence to prove, or even suggest, that Kwik-Fit MOTs are worse than anywhere else. I have always received fair and reasonable work from Kwik-Fit and have no reason to believe they are any worse than any local garage. In fact they recently repaired a dropped exhaust for me at no cost.
Exactly.
I am happy with the MOT they did for the car and I might even do a service with them when the times comes before selling it. I don't feel any regret for doing the MOT with them - perhaps only the fact they charge for absorber £97 and online it's £65 but you get it installed profesionally and I saw what they did with the car, so I was happy with it even if I paid £30 extra for what you can call 'luxury' of being MOTed there and not at any other place, and it's not like I have lots of money, I just invest it on the car so I can sell it for a better price.0
