Does Kwik Fit MOT certificate worth more than other MOT certificates?

And you have some evidence of this? Some proof that a Kwik-Fit MOT is more likely to leave a car in a dangerous condition than any other MOT stationThe greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

No.
According to recent research, monkeys can learn to use tools.0 -
I wouldn't let Kwik Fit muppets come anywhere near my car.
Having an MOT from them probably de-values the car, as any prospective buyer that knows anything about cars will realise."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Please explain why that is the case. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Oh, I see you've come out of your darkened room after your previous lie down.
If you need an explanation, you evidently don't know very much about car ownership and mechanics. I suggest you get some experience of Kwik Fit and their customers and then come back."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. So, in other words, you have no explanation. Surely that would have been the more mature way to respond. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I've had a couple of cars MOT'd by my local Kwik Fit in the last four years and I can honestly say that they were performed thoroughly and professionally. I watched both cars being out through their paces and have no complaints at all.
For all those who seem to deride a Kwik Fit MOT you seem to forget that VOSA can act on complaints and ultimately remove the MOT test facility from a trader who is not up to scratch.
There may well be some Kwik Fit outfits that are not up to scratch, but the local one in Welwyn Garden City has demonstrated to me twice now that they test the cars properly. I would be happy to take my current car for its first MOT to them in September 2013 when it is three years old."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

I can see what he means. The type of people who go to Kwik fit are the type who really don't give a stuff about their car, and from various posts on here, the work done is likely to be far lower than from going to a ford/toyota/vw etc specialist. They also probably think an MOT is a service
If I see receipts from a specialist place, you'll know that they've (probably) taken greater care of their car and given it the attention it needs, more likely to be serviced etc.0 -

There are more posts about the poor quality of work from local independent repairers than there are about Kwik-Fit. There is no evidence to prove, or even suggest, that Kwik-Fit MOTs are worse than anywhere else. I have always received fair and reasonable work from Kwik-Fit and have no reason to believe they are any worse than any local garage. In fact they recently repaired a dropped exhaust for me at no cost. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

I am pleased you have you must be one of the few, however when my daughter took her two and a half year old Mazda BT50 pickup to them because she had a vibration at the front when braking heavily, she was told she needed new discs and pads at a cost of £360.
On checking, the vibration had only occurred when she braked heavily on a very steep downhill, the ABS had cut in. The brakes were checked by a small independent garage who stated there was absolutely nothing wrong with them, it has since passed two MOT's and at the last service the pads were renewed.0
