Bought from B&Q - supplier gone bust

Hi,
I bought (in store) some flooring for home delivery when it was a 4 for 3 special offer price. i now find that B&Qs supplier of this floor have gone into administration. I was told to get a refund. But i want a floor, so i've looked on the b&q website and they have something very similar, the exact same price, but a different code. I've asked that i'd like this floor instead at the same price.
They have said no, but have offered 15% off instead - that is still more than the original amount.
Don't they have to offer and alternative at the same price, or a full refund?
Thanks
Ste

They should refund what you paid - isn't that what they've offered to do?Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

If B&Q are unable to fulfil your oder then they should offer a refund in full. Did you buy it online? If so you can cancel in accordance with distance selling regulations.
What remedies have they actually offered you?0 -

Forgive me for being brain dead, but, if the other flooring is the exact same price, how has offering a 15% discount made it more than the origional amount still???0 -
Yep, they've offered a full refund. Or this other floor at 15% off. But i wondered if they are obliged to offer me an alternative no matter what cost it is?
If i bought a sony tv from amazon, and amazon's supplier of sony tvs went bust, they should offer an alternative at the same price or a refund?
Maybe i'm being greedy, but the reason i bought from b&q was because of the 4 for 3 offer0 -

No, they are not obliged to offer you a more expensive product at the same price as the cheap one they no longer have in stock. Offering you 15% off is a goodwill gesture on their part and already more than they are obliged to do.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

They should -- out of courtersey if anything.
Legally though by refunding you in full they are doing nothing wrong i'm afraid.
The 15% off is also a gesture of goodwill so if you like the alternative accept the offer. Or you could be cheeky and ask for 20%

Sorry, i meant that 15% off the offered flooring still comes in at more than the 4 for 3 (25%).0 -
Have you asked if any other stores in the area have the same flooring in stock?0

This could turn into a game of brinkmanship, which could result in B&Q witthdrawing their 15% offer. But they might go to 20%. Do you want to play the game?
I think I would take the offer.0 -

Do appologise
I think most businesses (if entered into a contract) must offer an alternative at equal or greater value than the origional purchase.
Someone will be along to correct me shortly:D0
