    I wouldnt have said they are obliged too, the product ordered is out of stock, and no fault of the retailer in this case.

    No, they are not obliged to offer you a more expensive product at the same price as the cheap one they no longer have in stock. Offering you 15% off is a goodwill gesture on their part and already more than they are obliged to do.

    Really? I thought that in the case of a breach of contract, the injured party was entitled to be put in the position they would have been in had the contract been performed correctly.
