at the moment i have no braodband have not had it since christmas eve i requested a mac code which i never got, the modem broke and then i told them to cancel my account (never ever do that anyone) because they keep your line and disconnect your braodband for 30 days, i have request a third mac code and the lies i have been told are just terrible everytime i talk to someone at sky i get a different answer to my question, how can i get my broadband back, yesterday i was told they would phone me with a a mac code and that would overide the pending cancelation give me back my internet then i could move to another provider today i was told it is pending cancellation so that will take 30 days and a mac code wont do me any good i will just have to wait as that is how there system is set up, how can they be allowed to do that , i am at my wits end any one point me in the right direction please

if you are using sky via LLU, then a MAC wouldn't be any use to you, since their is not a migration path yet from LLU to IPStream, or, LLU to LLU0

I don't mean to be rude, but reading the OP, I can't imagine how that sentence could possibly be helpful!
Which other provider are you trying to go with? Have you asked them if they can help?
A last resort, but one which has been very useful, is to email james.murdoch@bskyb.com (head honcho).Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world

If 30 days have passed then just call a new provider as you should be okay to start a fresh.0

well the OP asked about migrating, and if he is on sky's LLU network, then he can't, so sky is leading him down the garden path so to speak... the way to check is to go to https://www.samknows.co.uk, do a broadband check on his line - then the results will tell you whether the line is on LLU or not
so if he cannot migrate - he would have to cancel, or wait for sky to fix it - either way, the OP has to get talking to somebody higher up the chain at Sky0 -
thank you for the replies now i have checked my exchange which is inverness culloden and according to that site it has not got llu on it so thats a blessing i can get and use a mac code,at the moment i have given up phoning sky because i have spoken to so many people since 24th dec and everyone tells me a different story so i dont know where i am but there will be a lot of strong letters written to heads of sky when this is sorted out , cheers for the email for a couple of years but the connection kept droping we changed our modem and it was ok but i had decide before that to go looking for a new provider anyway i am going back to them, scared to go anywhere else now, wish i could phone culloden exchange and see if they could help but i might phone nildram and see what they say0

I recommend that you use the freephone number for Sky BB 0800 051 2595, its got a MAC code option on the menu.
Hope this helps, or at least saves a few pennies on the phone calls. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
thank you i will give them a ring tomorrow have found out that sky connect is not llu so a mac code will work0

i phoned bt and what they said was because sky have put a adsl over llu marker on my line they can not legally remove it and they said they come accross this all the time and a mac will do no good what so ever as nildram could not remove it with a mac code anyway just to hound sky  so james murdoch is really going to know who i am first email sent 10 minutes ago,:rotfl: i may have to wait the 30 days but i am going to do my utmost not to bt also said if it was removed by 30 days that would be unusual thanks for all your help will get back if anything happens0

Just want to add that I've been with Nildram for a while now and their service has been exellent. Some reports say they've gone downhill since their takeover by Pipex, but I've not noticed anything.Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world
