just realised I posted almost the same question as you! let me know what you find out! try national for England - they were good to me about 15 years ago, not much help I know... I'm hiring in south of France.--
the best things in life are usually free.0 -
If you had typed that question into google you would have got 12 million answers listed in order of usefulnessPolitical?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

I always use Europcar for UK one way rentals. Most of the other rental companies charge extortionate one-way drop charges. Also try Enterprise, but you will need to ring the branch that you're picking up from for the quote as their website cannot handle one-way quotes.0

Which airport and how fare are you driving?
There are no decent comparison sites that I know of (at least none that I trust).
As xycom1 says, Europcar often has good one-way rates. Look for 'Airport Connect'. Hertz has something called 3/6/9 which allows cheap(ish) rentals for 3/6/9 hours. THese usually, but not always, allow free one-way rental up to a certain distance. I've certainly used it for Heathrow>Gatwick and London>Heathrow. Also Alamo sometimes turn up good rates.
Don't put too much faith in the comparison sites; all too often they conveniently forget to add the one-way fee.0 -
Antenna how many of those millions refer to spanish car hire companies as that's something we've considered ie just hiring a car to get to our accommodation and then hiring for one day to return to airport at end of holiday0

When you get to your accomodation where do you drop the car off?............if you cant get a bus or a train there, then do you expect a car rental office there ?...tell us,what is the airport? and what is your destination?Antenna how many of those millions refer to spanish car hire companies as that's something we've considered ie just hiring a car to get to our accommodation and then hiring for one day to return to airport at end of holidayPolitical?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
it would be from either alicante or valencia airports to javea - thanks for any info as it's so expensive for car hire for 2 weeks0

Hiya, may be worth a look at 'economycarhire dot com' (won't let me post a link, sorry), they have a facility for one-way rental quotes on their website and they are reasonably priced. They are a company with a pick-up full, return empty for rentals of more than 3 days though. Melb- although you can't drop off in Javea, you can drop in Denia which I don't think is too far away?0
