Hi,
I ordered an MP3 speaked from www origaudio.com after seeing their doodle speakers on the TV programme Something for the Weekend and in a magazine. I ordered this on the 2nd August, and delivery was supposed to be 5 working days. This has not as yet appeared, and my status when I log into my account on the website is still 'pending'. However, I paid through sagepay (I have the invoice, and confirmation of my order and payment from both sagepay and origaudio). I have queried now twice via their online contact form and via their email address (on the website it states that tehy will be back in touch by within 24 hours) but no reply. I have also tried ringing the telephone contact number which just keeps ringing out.... and ive also tried this at various times throughout the day! Any advice re how to get my money back?

You know they are US based?0

No... i hadn't realised, with it being a .co.uk website, and all the payment info was already in £. Still, that wouldn't be a reason why no reply from my emails and contact forms? Fingers crossed then that it may still arrive, but if not, i don't have a clue how to get my money back!!0

...I'm confused, you said it was origaudio.com in your OP.0 -

I googled and it was definitely .com. I was hoping to be able to find out some info for the OP but abandoned the idea when I realised it was overseas."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Don't assume that a .com website address means an overseas company. (Although in this case it is).
That said, there is a link on their Where To Buy page the defines origaudio.co.uk for UK sales.
The website says this within the cart section:
This does not mean delivery in 5 days. Does your order acknowledgement/other email state a delivery date? All orders will be processed within 3-5 business days.
Which site did you actually buy from? .com or .co.uk?0 -
I guess 16 days isn't necessarily an overly long time for an overseas order. The site looks OK. Hopefully you'll get your speakers soon, although I agree it's frustrating and a little worrying to be ignored."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Whoops! so sorry, it was definitely the .co.uk website i ordered from. This was the address given on both something for the weekend and the magazine.... im getting a little worried about the lack of response from them. And its now turned into a bit of a dilemma, as it was a present for a friend, divided by 3 of us, and if i don't get my money back (if its not delivered) do i just fork out the full £30 for an alternative present, or ask again for £10 from each friend to chip in again?! Im stuck

Strange, looking at the .co.uk site isn't reassuring .... the faq, 'about us' & some other pages return page not found responses.
The bottom right hand cornder of the page states © Origaudio and Doodle Distribution Limited, which implies a uk presence, backed up by a UK telephone number. However, there are no contact details. I believe this would place them in breach of the E-commerce Regulations 2002 & Companies Act 2006 for failing to state contact information & company details.
Time for some investigative work:
The phone number on the site tracks back to 'Doodle': Unit 16, Avenue One, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX28 4XZ, United Kingdom
This in turn, tracks back to company number 07705379 (Doodle Distribution Limited) on the Companies House site. That shows the company as only being incorporated on 14th July this year which could suggest why their website may be missing some pertinent info.
However, on that basis (them being a uk company & if you ordered from the UK site) you would be quite within your rights to email them & request a refund under the provisions of the Distance Selling Regulations. As there's only a contact form, you could probably submit a request through that & take a before/after screenshot to show it was sent, or followup with a letter requesting the same?.0 -
Well, Doodle Distribution Limited is definitely a UK registered company. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

Can a claim not be made via SagePay?The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
