sony ericsson K750i wont turn on! Help!!

I was on contract and as soon as my number got transfered to my new pay as you go sim my K750i suddenly wont turn on. Press power button , its lights up screen for 1 sec then turns off. Been fine up till now. Any ideas plz.........the sim card works as I tried it on my friends phone. I've just had it for a year and love this phone. Please help

have you tried power up without inserting the sim card? if that doesn't work then
most likely your phone has developed a fault.

Also try some other sim card if you have.

No joy, could it be when they took me off the contract and used the pac code, has anything todo with this. Just funny at the timing!!!

Most likely its a fault in the software which can be fixed by reflashing the firmware....but first I would just check that the problem is not down to a faulty (flat) battery by trying a known working battery in it.
If you live anywhere near Coventry I can have a look at it for you and reflash the firmware if necessary (FOC).

Try re-booting it. Take the battery out for a couple of minutes, put it back in, the charge.

I've tried 2 batteries now and now joy, the white light only comes on the once when I insert the battery and dissapears. I try the button again but no joy. I live in York but thanks so much for the offer.

it does sound like its had a s/w crash
try the s/e s/w update site 1st
it maybe still under warrenty as some manufacturers now have 24 months

Kuehne Nagel Logistics - will charge u £17.50 returning fee if the phone is liquid damage even if its a lil lil lil bit that has nothing to do with the fault ,.. they will still charge u,.

send it to CPW they will repair, and if its got water damage on it,. its up to the engineer to repair it on a good will term,.

i think its needs flashing,. and theres is a date code on the back of the phone so if u aint got proof,. they can always go on that,.

date code will be some thing like 06W32
so its ??Wx??

for ref:

white screen comes on then goes off= gdfs problem, can be fixed by simple unlock/repair on something like setool or re-build crc on cruiser.

white screen comes on and stays white (also phone does not vibrate on turn on)= main or fs firmware problem, fixed by re-flash.

white screen after changing lcd= there are two types of k750/w800 lcds one has a green ribbon one has a brown ribbon. the brown ones are new and if you fit it to a phone with a later software version than r1aa the screen will go white as the new lcd requires a newer lcd driver (only in new software), fixed by flashing newer firmware like r2bc etc.

there are other causes of this problem but they are more serious like damage to the lcd connector on the main board (the one which the icd lcd plugs into) etc.

and yes, i have repaired at least 500 k750/w800 with these problems.
