Sorry to dig up and old post. I decided yesterday that I felt strong enough to listen to this. It made me cry a little :o but it's really beautiful. Thanks for posting it zippy.

    xx
You're most welcome - I knew when I posted it that some would feel able to brave/isten/watch it, where others weren't. Even I had to pick my own ready time to, and I've not had an MC :o

    Have some hug.gif back ;)

Good luck bigzippy. Being referred to a FS was the first step for me in being able to have a family, even though I then went on to have subsequent children naturally with no extra assistance. It is daunting, but also the right thing to do, and hopefully they can sort you out relatively easily. Even the most sympathetic and interested GP isn't fantastic with fertility issues, just because sometimes drugs and treatment need such fine tuning, that you need to be very very experienced to get things right. I know it can feel like an admission that things aren't working (as opposed to just a fear that that's the case) though.
Thanks.:o My GP is helpful to an extent, but not particularly proactive. I asked him about the vit B complexes and he basically said he thought they were placebos! He also didn't think my gynae would be interested in seeing temping charts. He seems to think that stuff like this helps ladies feel more in control and like they're doing something productive. I can see where he's coming from, but I also take what he says (that isn't based on tested meds etc) with a pinch of salt tbh.

I'm not sure why I just rambled that off :o
As for the weight loss, I am always surprised how it goes in terms of people you see every day noticing. With me it tends to be that no one notices anything at all, and then suddenly when I get to about a stone or stone and a half off, suddenly everyone seems to notice in the same week and comment on it. Not sure why it goes that way. From what I've read though your weight loss has been much more dramatic than that. Could your mum just be a bit jealous or feeling defensive? Does she have weight of her own she could do with losing too?
She doesn't really have weight of her own to lose, no. She's pretty much on permanent Atkins and does keep in check. She's a feisty lady who decided to set up her own consultancy business at 65 when she was made to retire! I think perhaps she just doesn't really know how to talk to me about personal things, because in the past I've blankly refused to discuss how much I've lost or how - mainly because my parents go on and on and on about weight. Seriously, it's too much pressure. So maybe she's avoiding it completely now?? th_rolleyez.gif

Yay Rebekah! Very pleased for you
    Claire- Happy birthday!

Emsbet- fingers crossed for you xx

Big Zippy, don't forget we are all here for you if you need to talk about anything

Feeling a bit blue today, haven't seen any signs of ov yet, although I do have longer than average cycles so according to my FF app it will be next friday before I ov. Just want it to happen now, If it doesn't happen this time, it won't until next year.

On a positive note we have a viewing booked in for tomorrow with someone who has already sold their house to first time buyers, so fingers crossed for that.

Now watching in the night garden again (about the 15th time this week)- its DDs favourite. Hopefully she will let me get on with some frantic cleaning in preparation for tomorrow!

Off to a wedding tonight, really looking forward to it.

True. I like to be in control:o
But my fertility doctor did look at the chart every time I saw him, so does my Chinese medicine doctor.

Placebos WORK though, who cares why/how :D. I can see where he's coming from about temping too but again if it makes people feel better then job done as far as I'm concerned:)

Thanks :o It's not really the right place for the maudlin topics I have though, I don't think. I don't think my AF hormones are helping either. I'm also not ready to venture to the TTC 12months+ thread either, that seems very scary... _pale_

How long is "longer than average"? Are they pretty regular?
Good luck with the viewing :j

    Happy Birthday Claire

Good luck turning it into a BFP Rebekah :)

I personally think my GP is making assumptions tbh, on behalf of the gynae. I have mine loads of info last time and he thought it was great, the time before they didn't take me on much, so I think it depends who you see. I guess the other factor is that my cycles are all over the shop, so it's not like my charts would be as helpful as someone who, say, has regular cycle length but are maybe missing their ov date, iyswim?

I'm agreeing! He said that with me already losing the weight and being on Metformin, he didn't think taking something else (non prescription) would make any difference, placebo or otherwise :) I think he's got a point tbh
