Hope you feel better squ1rrel after a nice afternoon resting.
Does anyone know how long sperm has to be in your body before it can penetrate the egg? I have heard that sperm have to evolve and transform when the enter the female body so that they can enter the egg. Supposeldy they are not capable of entering the egg until this happens. it is called capacitation. But I want to know how long this takes roughly. The internet is not giving me any timescales.Halifax CC £1029/£2490, Tesco CC [STRIKE]£0/£3203[/STRIKE], Tesco loan £15431/£15808, Carloan1 £6743/£8241, Carloan2[STRIKE] £0/£3813[/STRIKE]

No idea but it might come up on that documentary that I think is on the internet somewhere about the general process.
I think its called the great sperm race, and was on channel 4. I think there is also one that was on national geographic. The only thing is once you watch them you wonder how anyone ever gets pregnant!0 -
So the saga of my rings continues ... I had rang them and said that they needed to be ready for Friday otherwise I was collecting them and takin elsewhere. They said this was fine and on ringing Thursday pm they said they were being done in the morning and would be ready for the afternoon. I went in and indeed they were ready. The price was as I had been quoted when I first took them in despite being told they would be £12 more twice in between that so happy on that front. However ... they had lost the 2 peices they had cut out of the rings that I had asked to keep! They said they would find them and give me a call. Having heard nothing I have just rung them and they still haven't found them! They have said they will try and find and I can pick them up tomorrow. I said I am not in town until next Tuesday again so I will call on Monday to see if they have found them then. Might have to start searching law on this one me thinks. Not that I will stand any chance.0

"Dear ovaries of QQ, You need to pay attention.... spend the next 14 days making a nice big egg ready to release in time for the return of Mr QQ! You will then be rewarded with a visit from some swimmers and you can fulfill your eggy destiny and make Mr and Mrs QQ their forever baby"Now if you get a BFP this month I'm taking some credit!Snuggled up at home with the cat now so just going to watch a movie and get some of those cold remedies down me so I can get better for my holiday!!! :TSupposeldy they are not capable of entering the egg until this happens. it is called capacitation. However ... they had lost the 2 peices they had cut out of the rings that I had asked to keep!
Did they really cut off those bits?0 -
Oh yes LOL. The rings were taken in to be downsized. And they were taken down 2 sizes. When I put them in I asked the lady if I could keep the peices taken out. I was advised that yes I could. They have value .. bet they have sold em ...0

I bet they've already melted the pieces down with others to re-use or sell on.

Afternoon all!
Hugs for those that have AF, cramps, bleeding and colds. Bleurghh! Perhaps we could open the AF room for those who aren't well?
Well, I went to see my Dr this morning for something unrelated to TTC and ended up telling him that we've not had any luck yet.
He asked how long we have been trying for, I showed him my FF charts and told him that my mum and dad had had fertility problems and he has offered to do some blood tests on me on CD21, even though he shouldn't really refer us for another 2 months. :j
He said that depending on what my blood test shows, he could then refer us on for further investigations.
He's a great doctor and absolutely hilarious. He was talking about different options (of course i know all this already, thanks to you ladies..) and when he mentioned an IUI he accompanied it with a rather graphic hand gesture. He then went bright red and said "ooops, sorry, probably shouldn't have accompanied that with a hand gesture"
I nearly fell off my chair laughing.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well - HUGS and baby dust!
