Can I just get your opinion ladies? I have had a headache on off for about 12 days now. I do get headaches now and then, but usually they go within a day or two. I'm wondering if it's just something to do with my cycle and will stop when AF comes (due Thurs) so not sure whether to go to the doctor or not. But then I was thinking yesterday I might be a bit anaemic as I've been feeling tired and light-headed too. Do you think I should try to see the doctor or wait for AF to arrive?
Actually, looking up the symptoms of anaemia I think it might be worth ringing the doc just in case.
If in doubt see the dr but in the meantime eat lots of dark leafy greens like spinach and rocket washed down with orange juice. Think it's better to get iron from veg than meat and the oj helps it to be absorbed. nettle tea is also good for building up you iron reserves and has all kinds of goodness in it (can't remember what though and it's not the nicest tasting but you get used to it). x0 -

Hi Lily
I haemmoredged after DD and it was borderline whether I needed a transfusion or not. The midwife in the hospital recommended this stuff to me
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Floradix-Liquid-Iron-Formula-500ml/dp/B000Z971W6
I thought it tasted vile but it did do the trick very quickly and much easier to tolerate than iron tablets which give you awful constipation (not good with stitches down below:( )
As others have said fresh orange juice aids absorption of iron, and also be aware tea inhibits it, so don't have a cup of tea with or close to meals.0 -

I now have charm envy, but DH has banned me from buying more
Lily_the_legend sorry if this has already been considered, but as we've come across each other on another thread, are you sure you're eating enough? Sometimes a drastic change in diet can trigger headaches. Also make sure you're getting enough fluids into you. That will help with EWCM and also headaches (if they're dehydration headaches)
I'll slink back off now. Sorry!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
