Back from first FS appointment - that wasnt scary at all! :D
She was such a lovely woman and made me feel really at ease! Thanks too to BZ and QQ for your input before I went, made me feel slightly less nervous!

Following on from the previous confusion from the ultrasound scan and the doctors notes that said the opposite thing, she did an external scan on my ovaries this morning and I have now been given the official diagnosis of PCOS.
QQ - its definitely S as I have all the symptoms to make it a syndrome (most things except the excess hair, thankfully!)

I am going to be given Metformin - she's sending the recommendation over to my GP and I have an appointment on 25th July so will be given it then! Great to feel like something is being done! It was music to my ears when she said it may also help with weight loss too - she explained that any assisited conception with the NHS wouldnt be available unless my BMI was below 30 (which it isnt) so I need to lose this weight. She has also referred me to a dietician though so perhaps that will help. Will be interesting to see how much difference the metformin makes.

I was given a pot for OH for this SA and I have a follow up appt in 3 months (not as long as I thought it might be) so it's all go go go...

Let's hope the Metformin does it's job!!! :)
Just need to do some more BD'ing now too!! :rotfl:

Hey everyone, have been lurking a bit but keeping up to date.

QQ - sorry to see you aren't having a good cycle, and good news in a way Squirrel. Better to know if something is wrong so you can start to fix it. I was diagnosed with PCOS as a teenager, but then they checked again a few years ago and said there was no sign on my ovaries. Slightly odd.

I sadly, am close friends with tweezers and wax, but it seems that isn't due to PCOS as it's actually my only symptom. Otherwise I have regular periods, and ov on time, so hopefully things will work out.

This month I have been taking aspirin and EPO. Aspirin as someone said it was good for very light periods (1-2 days), and EPO as the breast specialist said it was good for breast pain. I know I am not pg this month due to argumentative lack of BD, so it's good to see the impact without all the imagined symptoms.

So far the EPO has really helped with my moods at least, and breast pain is a little less. My period is due, and has sort of started, but not enough to call CD1 yet, which is a bit odd for me. Normally it's straight into it, but it seems the various tablets are doing something. I will keep you all posted!! Not that you may care, but no-one else to tell. :)

    Go Murray!

CB digi again says "pregnant 1-2" this morn. Chances of 2 wrong on consecutive days from different packets are pretty slim right?

OMG I guess this means it's real!

Yay Congratulations! I wouldn't worry too much about the dress, it'll be a nice anecdote to tell your child when they're older, the last minute panic they caused :)

QQ yeah, I think I ovulated on Wednesday, has all dried up down there. Not temped this morning cos I was out late drinking. Had a great night even though madness was cancelled due to the rain :(

Squirrel glad you're pleased with your appointment I can't remember if your cycles are irregular but metformin made mine amazingly regular :) the digestive system side effects can take a little getting used to, but I find it's better to take it with a meal and it's worse when I eat a lot of sugar, which is no good for dieting anyway x x

Thanks TL, yes my periods are really irregular and have cycles of about 50 days at the moment so am hoping that gets sorted out and I may have a better idea of ov.

Congrats to findingmyownway!! :j Nice wedding present for you!
Dont worry about the dress - if there's a little bump you can always hold your bouquet over it!! Do you think people will notice if you dont drink though? I know that would be the giveaway for me!!
