Codemonkey - have you done a test? Might it have been breakthrough/implantation bleeding? Doesn't sound like a proper AF.0

Morning ladies - firstly, massive thanks for all the hugs and best wishes over the last couple of days. You are all ace!
Just off to a meeting so will post properly later but have a quick question for the PCOS ladies please.
Everything I've read so far says that a 5-10% weight loss is a good idea. My BMI is currently about 22ish, would I still benefit from this? 5% would be about half a stone so managable, if there would be some point to it.
I may well be clutching at straws here but if we do have to go down the IUI route then I want to make sure I've given it the best chance of working.0 -
Good Luck QQ xxxIf you can think it........it will happen0

Ps I can't find codemonkey's name on the first page (was being nosey, wondering if there was a link to a chart!)0

tbh i'm not sure if that's based on the assumption of you being overweight, fat cells produce hormones (in particular eostrogen) so the theory is get rid of them and your hormone balance will be less out of whack.
personally, although apologies i can't remember what you've done already, i'd ask for a referral to a gyneacologist and discuss it with them, mine had a wealth of information about pcos and normal doctors just have no clue in comparison. it may be that he can give you metformin (GPs are reluctant to perscribe it) if you're not ovulating.
and as always i'd recommend a low gi diet if you're not already following it, there's a good few books/resources online that explain the link between pcos and diet. look up hyperinsulinemia too, it's intrinsically linked with PCOS, in fact it's contested as to which causes the other.
good luck QQ, fingers crossed for you!
AFM, i feel really sick this morning and my belly's really bad. so i'm utterly convinced the last batch of metformin i had was dud, as i feel like i did when i was getting used to it. harumph but also yey cos i was really worried as to why it had stopped working, so now hopefully it can get me Oing again and help with the weight, as i was really really struggling x xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6
