And I'm beginning to come around to the idea that I might be as well - although I had pre AF type cramping this time, which I've never had before, I also cried on three separate occasions over the last two nights at the tv. I even cried at Criminal Minds!
As discussed, I'm going to sit quietly in the corner over here. I like this thread, it's safe and comforting, whereas the other one is full of people getting good news and it not being me
:j:j Good News sa ra ra ra Keeping everything crossed for you xxxxIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
Nicki - how goes the herbs????? Have you had your needles again this week? xxxIf you can think it........it will happen0

Thanks Tinks and Sararara. I wasn't too worried as probably not succeeded this months but it's just reassuring to hear.
Congrats Sarara - stay comfy in the corner as long as you want!0 -
Nicki - how goes the herbs????? Have you had your needles again this week? xxx
Needles are at 3.30 today, and I have just finished my second bottle of the herbs. Usually they are fine, but on a couple of occasions I've really had to brace myself to take them. I ordered my next batch on Tuesday though to be picked up today, and the doctor thought that he could detect some improvement already after one month taking them. He said my pulse was stronger, and I think that's right as normally I can't find my own pulse in either wristbut over the last few days I have been able to, though it is still weaker than the one in my neck. I also had a heavier period last month which might suggest something is going on to help my body prepare.
I've been re-reading abis's helpful post from just before her BFP - the "there's nothing I can do to change things now" one, and trying to apply it this month. I'm only 2dpo so have a way to go before I can even contemplate testing though.
DH is off on his travels again on Sunday. He's been away for 3 or 4 days every week for the last 6 weeks now, and working very long hours in between, and I think we are both starting to get a bit tired of that now. Unfortunately it means my DS1 is missing lots of his evening activities, as they tend to finish around 8.30/9.00pm and I can't leave the other two kids on their own to go and pick him up (they go to bed around 7.30) but he's being very good about that.0 -

Glad you took it how I meant
They are *highly* unlikely to give you clomid straight out of the box.:o
Usually (at least from my experience and from others' I've read) they have a chat about your previous cycles (taking a list of them helps), ask questions like "how many pads/tampons do you use" (which flummoxed me!), arrange blood tests for cd2-5 & cd21 -which also included rubella and such, possibly arrange for a scan, probably/possibly take swabs to check for infections there and then. They also organised for an HSG for me too, to see if my tubes are blocked (I've just had my letter through to ring for an appointment on CD1). If you had a male partner they'd probably arrange for an SA for him (I'm aware this doesn't really apply for you
) and ask him questions too.
They then arranged an appointment for 6months time - well, it was supposed to be 5 months but when the appt came through it was 6months - to give time for all the tests to be done (the waiting list for the HSG was 12wks alone, and actually it's been longer than that so far) and then the FS reviews the results and decides how to proceed.
It is often Clomid tried for a maximum of 6 cycles, but only if they think it appropriate in your circumstances etc, and they said the first cycle would be scanned to check if it was working/not producing too many eggs so they could check the dosage. I'm sure you're aware, but there's also a BMI level they want you to be at/beneath for clomid - some is below 30, some below 35 - so be prepared for them to be pretty brutal about any weight issues you may have
The trigger shot you're talking about sounds like a step beyond clomid, when you reach the assisted conception stage with IVF drug protocols etc...?
I have no idea how much or little help they'll offer you for your specific donor situation though, but that's been my experience so far, so I hope that helps.

I think our OHs travel at the same time! DW is away, due back in a couple of hours, then away again next week for 2 weeks, along wtih DS. New job doesnt start for 2 weeks so I need to find something to entertain me... and not entirely sure what I am going to do! I did fancy a holiday on my own, but I don't think I travel well on my own. Maybe I will just stay here and focus on losing weight!
I had my second lot of acupuncture yesterday and got my herbs. Thankfully, she had encapsulated as I told her if they were yucky tasting I just wouldn't have them - so we will see! 8 tablets a day mind you and different types to take pre and after period! Do you have something similar Nicki?
ETA: The left needle in my foot yesterday was SUPER itchy.. she told me that was my liver point, so that was kind of interesting as she has mentioned lots of my issues are to do with my liver!Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -

Just for my 2p worth my best friend and her hubby had one baby and after 6 years of trying for another and tests were told that it was a miracle that they caught at all as her DH's sperm was no good at all :(If you can think it........it will happen0 -
Hi ladies
We are off on holiday today, woohoo! Especially as I am 5dpo, perfect timing, means I will be away for the most difficult part of the 2ww. I have been really good (in my humble opinion...) and NOT packed any pregnancy tests as we will come back home when I am 12dpo, so means I will have to wait until at least 13dpo to test. I have, however, sneaked my thermometer into my bag... Can't decide whether to temp while I'm away as a dip might depress me, but then it's my first cycle temping so I want to see the pattern.
No internet where we are going (cottage in deepest darkest Devon) so I won't be able to post, but might be able to read on my phone. I imagine there will be about a hundred new pages to read when I get back - and I hope LOTS of new BFPs!!
Big ((hugs)) to all feeling down.
Take care ladies (is it really really strange to say I will miss you and all this chit chat next week...??!!)0
