Tea Lover I had a 60 day cycle last year... can you beat that?! I hope not for your sake :) I took so many PG tests, I know how frustrating it is to be in limbo :o

Wish we could just press a reset button to take us back to CD1 so we don't have to wait around for ages :)

big hugs to those expecting the witch
and to Tea Lover too, who wants the witch. i had a 56 day cycle in december which also drove me crazy with the what ifs. in the end i caved and did a digi and seeing the words 'not pregnant' really helped

thanks for the advice Nicki, we'll be BDing tonight as it's the third day. my romantic life has turned into questions of 'it's been two days, do you want it tonight or tomorrow?' lol x

Had a 106 day one when I first came off the pill in July 09 :eek: That was a bit of a shocker.

Since then they've settled down at the mid 30s, with the occasional 45 ish every few months. This is much longer than usual.

has anything unusual happened Tea Lover? just i've always been told that stress/illness can knock your cycle off course.
my mammoth 56 day cycle was the month i had mumps and found out my sister was pregnant, so i had both illness and a lot of upset. the next cycle was 42 days and i'm hoping this one will be back down to 35 days x x

I did think maybe it's just (!) stress, I really don't know. Am having quite a stressful time atm with work and various other things, but that's been in the last few weeks, since I was already super-late. It's like now I'm so late, I'm worried about it and AF is kind of stuck lol.

I'm now wondering if it's something to do with endo, or possibly PCOS. But generally I have no idea!

    Population paste.... LOVE IT!! :D

AF has left the building and I am seriously excited about BDing again... it's been WEEKS, mostly because I kept thinking AF was about to arrive so wasn't really in the mood.

I'm really pleased, DH seems to have turned a bit of a corner and really wants us to have a baby now (instead of just agreeing because I wanted one so much). Makes me pleased that I'm not pregnant just yet, as if I do get pregnant I think he will be just as excited :j

A few weeks ago DH and I were driving home from dinner at a friend's (and he was quite tipsy ) and he spent the whole journey telling me how excited he was about us having a baby. I was so chuffed, I was worried that he wasn't that fussed and was doing it mostly because I wanted to. Nice to know that they're equally excited. DH also has a science background and is really interested in all the temping, opks etc. He's been really sweet this week, he's obviously super excited but every time I mention a potential symptom he wags his finger at me and says "no SS" because I told him about QQ's wagging finger smiley! :rotfl:

Well DTD for the first time post-mirena this morning. Have any of the other ladies on here been TTC post mirena and if so how long did it take you to get back into a regular cycle? Should I get ovulation tests yet or just wait for my first period?
I know it's a very very long chance that I can conceive when mirena only taken out yesterday, but it somehow felt a bit different this morning after we'd done it - first time when there's a possibility it could happen! Our little boy conceived totally by accident so although I'm already a mum we've never actually TTC before!
  • an9i77, I was using a Mirena before TTC. I had it removed at the beginning of June 2011, had AF about 22 days later, then had one cycle of 27 days, and got my BFP 27 days after that. So my cycles settled down quite quickly (I always had a 27 day cycle before using any hormonal contraception) - and in fact, both times I've conceived post-Mirena it has been within three cycles. Unfortunately we've had a couple of miscarriages, which we're getting tests for, but that's not because of anything to do with the Mirena, and I don't think it has affected my long term fertility at all.

I'm loving all the general uselessness of people you were talkign about last night! When it happens again for us (I'm not saying if, it WILL happen again *touches wood*) I'm likely to have to inject myself with heparin. I asked DH if he would help if I found it difficult and he went very pale and said 'of course, I'll do anything...'. I think he's just hoping that being my usual independent self I won't ask him to. When I've been having all of my blood taken I've been sitting there chatting to the nurses, doctors, midwives... and he has been staring very resolutely in the opposite direction, humming to himself because it makes him feel ill!

Also, another question. How do I know if my thermometer needs a new battery? I've started temping again over the past couple of days and because I sleep really badly and move about a lot at night I decided to um, stop using it orally, shall we say. But I'm popping it in, and drifting off to sleep again... and I don't hear it beep to tell me it's done taking the temperature. I don't know if it's because it's under the cover or because it's just not getting to that point, and I had to reset it three times this morning! Maybe I should just change the battery anyway...

Why is it only Wednesday? This week feels like it has been very long :(

Hi an9I77. I've been ttc post mirena twice now. Bear in mind that we do have known fertility issues anyway so it takes us longer to conceive than most. The first time I took 20 months and had a lovely little boy (but my cycle did return to normal immediately, I just didn't conceive quickly). The most recent time I conceived the first month after it was removed, without having an AF, but unfortunately miscarried, and am now still ttc 6 months later.

    Afternoon Ladies,

Welcome an9...! Sorry, I can't do letters and numbers anymore, my brain has stopped working the last couple of days.

I kind of read what you write guys and I think it's all funny and that but I just can't smile or take it in properly. Stress is my enemy and work has been mad:(. I was so exhausted on Mon night, I went to bed at 9, and yesterday at 10, I'm usually up till 11ish.

Birdie, I remember you got preseed from Amazon. How do you find it? did you get the one with the applicator? I'm kind of thinking about getting it but not sure whether it's ruining the moment or not IYKWIM.
