Orange Dolphin 10 - can someone tell me what's free & what isn't?

Hi,

Hoping for some advice! My OH just got an LG phone on Dolphin 10 tariff. He's a very low user so should be perfect. What I'm trying to find out is, is it free for him to go on the Internet at home via our wifi? And is it free to check his account balance somewhere, i.e. his Internet usage (comes with 100mb per month but want to make sure he doesn't go over!). I am not that impressed with Orange so far, I can't seem to find these answers easily!

Thanks!

Home wifi is always free on any tariff.
Usage can be checked both online and via 150. For some tariffs internet usage can be checked only either online or via 150.

Yes, it will be free to use home wi-fi.

Is Dolphin 10 £10-a-month for just 30 minutes and 100MB internet? Those are low limits for the money.

    Hello,

Thanks very much for your replies. Yes they are low but with the £150 cashback from Quidco currently offered, it works out to only £3.75/month for 2 years! He hardly makes a call so it seemed to make sense and he got a reasonable new phone too with some Internet allowance. The other alternative was Giff Gaff.

So can he check his usage via his mobile free of charge?

If it is a smartphone there is an app for this: "Your Orange". Or just use the browser and 'my account' at Orange website.

    '150' calls are free.

Thank you, yes it's a smartphone and I saw that app. Great will get him to register so he can keep an eye on his Internet usage. He won't use it much at all but I have no idea what 100mb will get him.

Orange contract can you set it not to go over your allowance?

BTW I don't like the app - like any crapware produced by Orange.

It looks a good deal for a light user with all that cash back. The risk is definitely going over the 100MB though. I use mine just for basic surfing and use about 300MB to 400MB a month (fortunately I get a 3GB allowance from Three currently).
