What was your 3rd choice? I heard Grosvenor came down to random selection for the last few places.
153 places allocated at 104 and above. 9 tied on 103. For last 2 places (intake set at 155) went to criteria....1. eldest child or has sibling currently at the school 2. random blah blah.... so wee son missed out. and yes I do know somone has to etc... actually knowing how close he came makes it 100 times worse.

  • what's 2nd choice for you? How do you feel about it? I guess you had no relative currently at school / weren't eldest child? x Really hope it works out for your ds.

Our 2nd choice is wellington and tbh im.not happy at all, gutted is an understatement to say the least :(
We have cousins at school and son is eldest in family but it went one further and was worked out by lucky dip by computer. Did you not have sibling etc at school? What was ur 3rd choice also if u dont mind me asking what school is ur son at as u said a pupil with same score got in :( do u know if they had sc or siblings

I think its bad when we know how close we came to gaining a place, do u know the classmates circumstances if they had sc?

oh ok, tbh i was in shock talking to vp and didn't take in that it was those with sibling/eldest child who were then randomly selected. ... still had thought ds would have had a point at least added given the awful sudden illness and death of his grandad in the middle of his 3 papers!!!!! but no

  • Can i just ask how many parents are happy with the aqe/gl procedure? Not taking into account today as some of us have had bad news, am i the only one that feels like its the bloomin secret service! No one can give a straight answer, explain scores or procedures yet we say nothing and accept that thats the way it is

classmate is eldest child in family and now only pupil from his school going there. no special sc

yes, if the system was clear and accountable - saying what they considered and why he got no consideration for situation he was in.... but it's not, so I'll do what I think I must on his behalf - appeal, so I get the info... tho I'm told very few ever win on appeal....
