Then your friends are very dishonest and missleading
report them and get compensation
I guess Plusnet really should comply with your friends misguided assumptions.:o0 -
Got to go to the car dealers tomorrow to return my new car, nowhere in the literature does it state that I had to put fuel in it.Move along, nothing to see.0

Hey, the poster is right u know......
I looked into it.....
There was a section that said
"For those with no brains, u can get stand-alone broadband for £x.xx per month, and no copper telephone line is required to transmit a data signal, you can use Wireless technology such as Smoke Signals for your stand-alone broadband, or upgrade to faster service by using string and paper cups"

Personally I hate the way BB providers advertise at the moment. Offering BB for as low as 3.49 p/m but omitting the line rental seems wrong, but imagine the problems advertising BB and the infinite line rental deals out there!
Plusnet have been advertising this deal for a while now, they are not the cheapest but they ate one that allows a very good price BB on any BT fed line. These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
There is very little difference in line rental cost between providers, they all follow one another.
Plusnet price is only very cheap on a Market 1 or 2 exchange-not on a Market 1.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks for posting this, you've reassured me about plusnet. Perhaps you'd post details of the audit you've carried out which lead you to the conclusion that there's nothing dishonest about them?
It's just that my experience suggested they were fundamentally dishonest. For instance, charging an existing customer for an upgrade, then not turning up to do it. Three times. Then charging again for the upgrade they still hadn't done. Obviously that's not dishonest is it?jack_spratt wrote: »Why do people not think before posting headline grabbing thread titles
Dishonest broadband
There is nothing dishonest about plusnet they are a good honest company yes they make mistakes with regards customer service at times as all companies will do but they will always try to sort it out .
It always surprises me with some of the posts we get on here and the lack of common sense applied by the poster .
.
Maybe they were talking about mobile broadband0 -
What 'upgrade' are you referring to? Plusnet do not do engineering work (nor do they have any engineers) at customer homes-any line work is the responsibility of BT OR.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi JohnAdam,
That sounds like a fibre installation? If so would you mind passing on a ticket ID so we can investigate your account? That sounds like one that needs looking into, at least I could help to explain what's happened if nothing else.
We'll only charge for a missed appointment if it was down to the customer not being available or otherwise missing the time.
Regards,
Matt Taylor
