Dishonest BroadBand?

Why do people not think before posting headline grabbing thread titles
Dishonest broadband
There is nothing dishonest about plusnet they are a good honest company yes they make mistakes with regards customer service at times as all companies will do but they will always try to sort it out .
It always surprises me with some of the posts we get on here and the lack of common sense applied by the poster .
.Was advised by many friends that they assumed the phone line could be activated for broadband without having a Land Line phone contract
Maybe they were talking about mobile broadband0 -
It was two plusnet Customers who said they thought the phone line could be activated without a Land Line contract. They still have their Land Lines with BT. Just because all ISP's do it doesn't make it right. Its miss leading and as consumers we should hold them to account for it. My point was everyone is pusing Plus Net when in fact they are no better than any of the others. My broadband with them actually worked out to more than my existing supplier when you added all the hidden costs. Their are a lot of people now fed up with Land Line phones and Line Rental its about time we got a real stand alone product on the market.0

That'll never happen - BT need to recover the costs of maintaining the old phone network which ALL the ADSL ISPs use for their broadband products.
To achieve your desire, we need FTTP for everyone or for Virgin to extend their cable network to the whole country (ain't going to happen!)0 -

So how do you think the signal gets from your PC to the internet without an active landline? Delivered by the broadband fairy?
Neither do Plusnet say on the main page that you'll need an electricity supply to power their router, but it's assumed that most reasonable people would work that out for themselves. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Wait, you need an abode to have broadband?? Here I was sitting on the pavement expecting Plusnet to build me a house for my £6.49pm broadband connection. Can I complain to Ofcom because they didn't explicitly state I needed a house/flat to install it into???I am an IFA, but nothing I say on this forum constitutes financial advice. Always draw your own conclusions and always do your own research.0

I've got bad news for you-you'll have to provide your own computer too. Outrageous isn't it-who would have realised that?No free lunch, and no free laptop

I am confused ? is the poster saying that you have to have plusnet as your telephone line provider for them to provide broadband ? or that you do not need a telephone line provider at all ?0

No you don't, and yes you do.
But he thinks that you shoudn't!No free lunch, and no free laptop
