    Hi flissy!:hello:
Hun,I never intended to have a go at you in any way. hug.gif
I really hope you believe that.:o Angel, it was directed at us all to give us a reminder and also a heads up about what was being said regarding the thread.

I was prompted into using those examples by the critical post on the Health board.

As I said, it was hopefully meant to be pre-emptive hunnie. Because the next thing you can bet good odds on, is that if I hadn't said something then someone from outside the thread, with no insight into what people with mental ill health have to go through, would have said it instead - and they still might.

Flissy, I wasn't replying to your post hun. :o I was replying to the other post. I almost added a footnote on the post I put on here angel, because I know how sensitive we all can be, saying "and I don't mean you flis!";) I wish I had now. I know you said you're not upset but I know how sensitive you are angel and just wanted to explain.

Flis you are a warm, intelligent, compassionate soul who gives me and the others here so much. You've got a good heart hun and only ever the best of intentions. :A I'd stand your corner in any fight angel, as would we all. :T
I know how sensitive we all are here and I wouldn't hurt anyone's feelings for anything.

It's just that every now and then, this subject comes up from another poster somewhere. The older family members will verify that I'm sure. This isn't the first time hun. It then prompts debates on whether we should have our thread.

I'm so sorry if I've upset you sweetheart but it was just a case of bad timing when I replied to the other poster - again nothing was aimed at your post hun.

I just felt I had to explain to the other poster that we do have a place on the MSE site and that we are aware of the rules and that the help we need with finances can be more specialised than on other threads. A lot of financial help is harder to get for us because of the nature of our problems and that can make our finances fall apart too.

Mental health to me is the forgotten illness, the secretive illness, to many 'normal' people. And you are not voluntarily offered financial or any other kind of help - you almost have to trip over it to find it and then you've usually got to fight for it - certainly much more, imho, than people with purely physical illnesses, that can be measured much more easily.

Also, imho, we are entitled to some light relief and a laugh too just as they do on other threads.
There are so many places where we don't seem to belong - where people get bored, mock us, ignore us and roll their eyes, but coming here has been a blessing to me and many others, and we do follow suggestions for information and support that are unique to our health problems.

As I said, I'm not in charge of anything, or a mod for the thread (that's our Glad ;) ), and it was all just a Tiffy thought hun to pre-warn us all that people do monitor us and we have to be careful sometimes. I don't want to lose the support and information link we share guys - I just wanted to help. I have respect for all of you - I hope you know that.:A
And flis, please be assured that I have only good things to say about you hun.

Right - a boiled egg for the first person who can remind me of what I'm talking about! ;):D

    Take care guys!hug.gif
    And...

    Glad you found us hun.:T
Imho - to me meant in my humble opinion and that's how I use it.
However, having read our stenny's post above, looks like there's two possibilities, not a huge difference between the two angel.
Another to watch out for is iykwim - if you know what I mean.
Oh and lol - lots of laughs. Hope this helps dfwa.

    Hi rose!
    How are you angel?
    quote=rose07:hello:
Im not gonna call the crisis team, managed to get an appointment to see my GP :T end of next week, just before i go in for my operation:eek: .
Just remember that the Crisis Team is there for you angel too.;)

AS farr as benefits, erm i dunno what im even on, its incapacity benefit or income support  , dunno really. i was never good with things like that.
If I were you angel, I'd contact the DLA (Disability Living Allowance) and ask for a claim pack. Then book an appointment with CAB or MIND to help you fill it in. Doesn't matter how good you are with forms hun, they use a specific wording and these agencies can make all the difference between success and failure of a claim. If your life is affected by mental ill health to a certain standard, it's always worth trying to claim.
As I've said before, it's got nothing to do with whether you work or not, or are married or single and it doesn't affect your benefits if you are receiving them. It is completely separate guys.;)

Also, rose has reminded me of something - when we're very poorly it's hard for us to keep track of our finances. I don't know if this will help but you can appoint someone you trust to act as a second point of contact with some companies should you become very poorly.

For example, if you haven't paid a bill, rather than cut you off, they will contact the person you chose and let them know you're late in paying and then they can help you sort everything out with whichever company it might be. It's not a power of attorney as such.

The operation is for my foot, basically the bones in my feet are all wrong, make it uncomfortable/sore when i walk, run, play football etc...., the operation is to realign my bones in my foot to hopefully make things better, they use pins...
not looking forward to it. :o , so i find myself thinking of things i wont be able to do in 2 weeks that i can do now. I will be on cruches for months, and i will be in alot of pain apparently, so hoping i have a high pain threshold :o
I'm glad you're catching up with old friends hun!:T You deserve a treat.:A
If you were looking forward to it angel, there'd be something wrong with you!:D Bless you, they wouldn't do it unless they thought it would make a difference to you rose so I'll be thinking of you hun.

    bumleg.jpg

I hope you'll have a speedy recovery angel.hug.gif Hope you didn't go on the dizzy water last night rosie!;) Hope you're having a good weekend hun.

    Hi ltd!:hello:
    How are you hun?
Thank you for sharing your experiences angel.hug.gif
I remember your post on DFW thread - that too was just as eloquent. You've done very well to write all this down - it can have a cathartic effect sometimes. ;) One day soon you'll probably come back to this hun and put it all in chronological order as you said. Sometimes that can help us see a pattern.

I hope you don't mind me saying hun but a pattern has occurred to ol' Tiffy from what you wrote. Your description of your school days and the bullying struck a chord ltd.

You were bullied, then the bully moved and you were finally able to apply yourself to your studies angel. You enjoyed that, you were achieving by working hard and getting recognized for it and you'd made friends. You were happy. The more you worked, the more you achieved and the happier you felt.

Imho, that sent your subconscious a message that this working hard was the way to be happy and accepted and there were all the benefits of working hard too.
Maybe  that's why you felt so homesick when you were away angel? You were fretting over what was going on back home because you couldn't let go enough to relax?

You took on a lot of responsibility at a young age hun. I truly admire your work ethic ltd.:T I said to you before that sometimes we have to think about our quality of life angel. You're no less intelligent or worthy if you're not working due to illness hun. Going back too soon can do more harm than good sometimes. Maybe you can learn to slow it down a little and break things up into manageable pieces hun - it's better for us sometimes to succeed at smaller goals and rise steadily than to aim for the highest point and fall.;)

I'm sorry for your situation regarding your gf ltd.:o But if it's not right, it's not right. If you can find your true goal for happiness, be kinder to yourself and relax more, you'll find that you might enjoy life more without the stress hun. You can only do what you can do angel and time is still very new for you thankfully.

I'm not going to patronise you with promises for happy-ever-after hun, but once you let go of all the ''I must''s and the ''I have to''s, life becomes a lot easier. You are more than a qualification or a job title angel - they are important, but they are not what makes the whole of you.

Maybe you could consult Connexions with regards to employment options ltd? There used to be tests they could do that would suggest what field you'd be happiest and talented in. I know you're highly competitive hun but don't let it burn you out.;) (I bet you're filling in another application form as you're reading this aren't you? ;) )

All I can say ltd, for what it's worth, is that it takes time and experience to make us who we are. You're not doing so badly angel - honestly.;)
So put your feet up for the rest of the weekend ltd and enjoy the break hun. Sorry for the Tiff thoughts - I must try and give up thinking! :D Take care hun.hug.gif

    Hi everyone,

Happy Easter :easter_os :icotbaske :easter: :EasterBun :easter_ba

Hope you are all having a good day. Am off up my mums in a bit, really looking forward to it. Nice roast lunch, a few drinks with my family. Am taking my 4 year old niece as well and we are going to have an easter egg hunt in the garden.

Tiffy - honestly I wasn't upset, it was more that you just reminded me not to say stuff about herbal remedies. All forgiven and forgotten. :kisses3:

RBK - Saw Sunshine at the cinema, really enjoyed it. I love movies where the whole world is going to end!!

I also love being a nursery nurse, I used to work in an office and hated it. I love being around children all day. They have such positive energy and can make you forget all your problems. They are also not afraid to show their emotions. I think a lot of adults could learn something from children.

Anyway, had better go get ready now. Have a great day.
