Hi ltd!:hello:
How are you angel?
I just wanted to say hun that nerves are natural in such a situation. However, once we allow it to become a pattern ltd, it stops being helpful.;)
I know exactly how you feel every time I used to step out of the door. Simple things may help imho...
- Stay away from alcohol.
- Speak to your gp who may advise something for the physical feelings, which are a very real result of anxiety.
- You seem to run at everything work-related at full speed hun - this can encourage anxiety. Try and slow down.;)
- Remember that this was how you felt when you started your Asda job BUT THAT IT WENT AWAY! That's the crucial bit hun. You have to constantly remind yourself that it does goes away.
If you remind yourself of this constantly angel, it will become a habit and you will be convinced and able to remember that YOU are in control and that if you just take a few minutes quiet time to yourself and do some deep breathing, you'll feel better.
- Before you start anywhere imho, try and start to do relaxation to music. It really works. You should do it a couple of times a day, or more if you can, to get good at it.
- By the time your new job comes around hun, you'll have it down to a fine art and be able to upload it onto your mp3 player (or gramaphone - whatever!:D ) and take it with you to work. Your mind will associate the instrumental music you choose with relaxation you see, and you will start to relax.
- This will only work if you practice it so that it becomes second nature.
-It is physically impossible to be relaxed and anxious at the same time. This is really important ltd. Just like you can't be wet and dry, angry and happy or awake and asleep at the same time.
- Anticipating or fretting about anxiety is natural but is also likely to bring it on. Your mind makes unconscious associations angel. If you've done the above often enough, your body will listen to your mind because you'll be familiar with it the anxiety, knowing it'll go.
- As an extra, practice a little speech to yourself in case you do become anxious. Along the lines of-
"Oh, this again. Yes, I've felt this before and it's never hurt me. Well I'm in control and I'm not going to let this feeling to take over. I'm going to enjoy this experience."
- If you can concentrate on what's around you and on what you're learning, the anxiety will have to back off.
- After reminding yourself that the anxiety does go away hun, remind yourself that afterwards you felt fine and settled in well at the last job.
Again a little internal speech of something like "If I'm ill, I can..." or "If I feel....I will..." or "I want to come here. This can't hurt me."
This makes you feel better because you'll have back up plans to face any really anxious moments.
- Remind yourself too that these people WANT you there, which is a good thing.
If you do all this starting now, it will become natural to you instead of the anxiety becoming natural. Even if you already get over-anxious, it will still work angel. It's all a step further on than positive thinking - kind of a cbt (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) approach.
Sorry for the length of this guys- hope it gives you some ideas ltd.

Just a quick hello to everyone, especially the people I sometimes pm, because I just haven't had the time or energy to speak to you recently and I am sorry about that. I still think of you all, but I have to look after myself first.
I am well, very wellPut it this way, I'm not in the depths of despair anymore
Love to all and Tiff, you look after yourself, we should all have a meeting sometime, we could all sit in different corners and wave at each other
Hi beer!:hello:
We all get to that point sometimes angel - we know you're thinking about us - that may be the cause of your depression!_pale_
Take hold of this time angel, when you're feeling better, so that you can recall it if you have a blip. It'll help to remind
you that the low parts do go away and that can be a real comfort hun.;)
Thanks for your thoughts hun.:T Tiff is feeling liked this a.m. I'm in real danger of having a positive thought!
Yes hun, I think one day we'll have to have a meeting of the 1-in-4 Club. May have to be at my house if I'm still agoraphobic though!:rotfl:Have a great day angel.

Morning everyone. Well today is a good day (but a bit scary!).
First day of my diet, which I am feeling quite positive about. Have got loads of support now. Was talking to hubby last night and he has decided he would like to join the police force, but he needs to lose weight first, so he is going to diet with me. Also phoned my sister and she has just joined weight watchers where she lives, so we are going to help and support each other as well. With both of them and my Mum making sure I go to classes every week I actually feel quite good about all this.
Secondly today is the first day of my physiotherapy on my ankle. A bit scary as I am worried about what I will / won't be able to do and how much it is going to hurt. But it is good to be taking steps towards recovering.
Thirdly it is going to be a fab day as I am looking after my sister's dogs who are gorgeous and lovely. They are such nice company, I really enjoy having them.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -

Not a problem Tiff, I will come over very early, so you can meet me and I'll pick you up and take you there myself.
Pick you up, as in my car.............:D
I think looking after others helps us both Tiff. xx
But you have to let others look after you sometimes as well.
I know one of the main things that has been causing any depression I have and that is now almost sorted, that sounds a bit funny, but you will just have to trust me on this.
I've always known it was causing me problems, but just got on with my life and ignored it, that was a big mistake.
flis21, little steps, you can't do it all at once.

Morning blinky.. always lovely to hear from youI hope life is treating you well and that above all, you're being kind to yourself *huggs*
b/f was complaining that he's tired today... in a very grumpy voice, cos apparenlty I was sleeping with my head on my pillow but the rest of me over on his side of the bed, leaving no room for him... I dunno why he didn't shove me over or wake me up or sommat, it's his own fault then innit if he couldn't sleep
I dunno yet what I'm doing today.. part of me wants to go out and the other half can't be bothered.. spose I'll decide later, lol☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆
