Sorry for jumping on the post, but I need to let go and spill how i'm feeling... hubby was diagnosed with depression 3 weeks ago and has been on medication since then. On Saturday he stayed out all night and didn't make contact - went to mates house. Sunday he announces he doesn't know if he wants to be married anymore or if he loves me still, so decided he needs space and time to see if he can identify what he wants. He seemed to be getting better last week so this is really unexpected. I've spent the past few days in tears and am trying my best to hold things together, but I'm a person of reason and just keep questioning what I've done etc. He informs me I've done nothing wrong but he has things going on in his head ... I am just lost! I am sorry:-(

    Hi Nippy

    firstly dont apologise

Your hubby is probably finding it all hard to deal with and that of course is taking a strain on you as you care about him, but if he is seeking help and has said he needs some space then, it means he probably just needs some time to get his head around things hun, try not to worry.

Feeling depressed can make us soo confused but make sure if you want to, to tell him how you feel, so he understands, let him know you are there, that you care, and if and when he needs you will be there, i know this is hard, but sometimes all we can do when people are unwell is be there for them in the best possible way we can.

keep talking and your not alone

    much love hun

  • sometimes one person can have a downer on a good day and it really really really annoys me. he and my friend went to watch Blackpool V Bournemouth (blackpool our are local rivals) and my OH supports Bournemouth so i was sitting with the Bournemouth fans. me and my friend got there an hour before the game and we were in the pub mingling with Blackpool fans and it was a blast, they knew i was preston and we all had a good laugh. the game atmosphere was good we were singing until the end. after the end me and some Bournemouth fans shooks hands and wished each other good luck. then me and my friend got on the train and we were talking to each other and then we started talking about football and this Blackpool fan piped up and said "you better stop talking about Preston" at first i thought he was joking so i just smirked at him and then he said "i hope you get the jist boys" so i just looked at my friend and shut up. he sat on the train for about 10minutes (by the way he was about 50 and i am only 18) and when he got off he made the sign that he was going to punch me, so i flinched and he started having a go at me, so i just made a few comments to him and made him look like a complete boob. so that was good.

It's just a shame that after a good day one idiot spoils it completly, because he has some terratorial problems.

anyway glad i have got t hat off my chest

    how are you all

    I can't sleep either. I have a cold and a sore throat :(

I usually just watch TV until I drift off to sleep.

    Morning all,

Tiff - what's with your carpel tunnels? Weleda do a fantastic ointment for tendonitis, contains ruta, rhus tox and arnica (homeopathic) and it worked for me when I had chronic tendonitis through my thumb and wrist. Maybe worth a go if you could avoid surgery.

Struggling with sleep at the moment. No problems dropping off, but waking up in the middle of the night or waking really early (5 this morning.) At least one of my girls comes through at some point and climbs into my bed, but usually I sleep through it. Now it seems that the moment I surface into conciousness that's it. My relaxation techniques don't seem to work when I'm sandwiched between 2 children (one snores!)

hope everyone has a good day

I hate not being able to sleep. it really annoys me, I've got lots of things swirling through my head. is there anyone who can help me try and get some sleep, do people have ways of trying to get to sleep when they are feeling like this.

Here are the ones I use, but as I said, they're not doing the trick at the moment!

    1. Counting backwards from 200 to 0, and bring youself back in every time your mind wanders onto anything other than a number.

    2. Lying on your back, arms at your side, tense each part of your body in turn for 10 seconds, relaxing after each tension. Start with feet - pointing toes to the foot of the bed, then relax, then point them as far as you can towards the head of the bed (impossible!) then relax. Do this all the way up your body - calves, knees, thighs, buttocks, belly, upper arms, lower arms/wrists, fingers, face. The face is best to do last, and usually sends me off - screw your mouth and eyes up, relax, then open your mouth and eyes wide, then relax and hopefully sleep. Oooh, and deep breathing through all of the above!

    Hope these help.
