Depression

I'm also interested to learn this ... Prozac's had a lot of bad press, but I also believe it's saved the sanity of many.
My OH was on Seroxat for many years and in spite of all the bad press it got, it really suited him. His doctor took him off it a few years ago and, in many ways, I wish he hadn't as he's really struggled to find alternative drugs since to treat his increasingly bad depression. Although he's now prescribed Lithium (which I admit has been a life saver), I often wonder what would have happened if he'd still been "allowed" to take Seroxat. Perhaps it's inevitable he'd need stronger drugs eventually, but we'll never know ...
Everyone's so very different in what suits them and what doesn't ... it really is a minefield:rolleyes:Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -

Seems a few people have gone down with that flu-type thing. Best thing is to rest up, till you've worked it out of your system. Big healing hugs to you. Sazxxx4 May 20100 -

How is everyone sleeping?
My OH went on a sleep study the other day for his loud snoring. He was monitored and has sleep apnoea. He stops breathing every minute for 30 seconds and wakes frequently and it made him feel bad. Therefore being grotty to be with.
He has slept thro the night for the last two days and he is so much more lively and happy.An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
:eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -

That's really good CC he's had help with that and he's feeling better in himself. My sleep's been erratic for ages. Mainly waking in the small hours and not going back to sleep. Given up trying to figure out why:rolleyes: Will be trying to get an early night tonight as I'm feeling so shattered... ever the optimist, me:)
You sleeping ok?

SoozieSoo wrote:Thank you feelinggood. I am so scared of going to the doctor as I am worried others will think I am just being stupid. On the outside I probably have a nice life, loving husband, lovely child, but on the inside I just feel so useless.
My child has been at school a few years and my husband is making noises about me going back to work. I really do not think I could cope with any kind of job at the moment and don’t know what to do. Being at home for so long has kind of helped me manage these feelings as home is “safe”.
I once went to a doctor about 8 years ago, after my child was born, as I was feeling very low. The doctor refused to help and this has put me off ever going again. I know I need to go, but am worried he will just tell me to get over myself.
Just an update. I have been to the GP and they were very helpful and prescribed AD's.
Thank you for all your help. I would have not have had the courage to go to the GP without this forum0 -

I have severe sleep apnoea as a result of a stroke a few years ago. Does your OH have to wear a mask (CPAP)? I've worn one for the last 6 years and it makes so much difference to your sleep. OH and I often joke that, should we ever be burgled during the night, the burgler would run a mile if he saw this alien looking creature (me :rolleyes:) lying in bed! The "box of tricks" the mask goes into is slightly noisy, but you soon get used to it.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0
