I don't recall seeing any but there is a shop in the hotel which stayed open til about 10 if memory serves me right ( altho there is a good chance I could be wrong!) If not there is a spar - type shop about 5 mins away which would prob be open late.

I don't remember seeing 6 pools! There was the main one and then at the back of the hotel across a little road there was a smaller pool for kids ( it had two "tiers" to it - maybe that's where they are getting the higher number from?)

Yeah that's pretty much what I thought I could see in the pics. We aren't bothered really but it's just confusing when different people say different things - I'm not sure how there can be much of a misunderstanding over the number of pools :D
Not sure any shops will be open when we arrive though because we're expecting to get to the hotel until about 4am. Ah well, I'll just have to do a mad dash at the airport and grab a few bottles of water etc before we board the shuttle bus :rotfl:
    Thanks for your help xx
Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

  • Di, you're a star :D
Any feedback you could give me will be gratefully received. I guess I'd like to know the standard things really - room comfort, standard of food, range of facilities etc. All of the reviews are reasonably positive (and I'm quite realistic about what to expect for a 3 star) so fingers crossed it'll all be good.
Hope you have a fabulous time! xx

Hi, we returned from our holiday to the Lagotel on Friday, 2nd September and I would like to report that we had a lovely holiday. The hotel is very good, not higher than a 3 star but good nontheless. I would definately recommend the hotel and would consider going again. Rooms were OK, double bed for me and hubby, settee bed for my 11 year old and a camp bed for my 9 year old - would not be very comfortable for anyone any older/bigger. We read reviews that pillows were flat so I e-mailed the hotel before hand asking for extra pillows and these were provided. We also requested a low floor in a quite part of the hotel and this was fulfilled too. Entertainment was OK, typical for the type of holiday, Rud Stewart (not Rod!!), the 4 Tops tribute, magician, acrobatics, grease megamix, hypnotist etc,. The usual kids disco and bingo before-hand - usual prize was 150 Euros for a line and 500 Euros for the full house - we won the full house but so did 3 other people which left us with 125 Euros - not bad for a 5 Euro stake!! Kids enjoyed it too - pools were lovely and clean (3 freshwater pools at hotel side and 2-3 other pools over the road at Breezers which are salt water pools). Pool areas open at 10am but some people did queue beforehand to ensure they got the areas they wanted to be at. We never had a problem getting sun loungers and there were plenty of parasols. The food was lovely too, roast dinners etc in the restaurant. The snack bar open until 6pm at the side of the pool which provided burgers, hot dogs, chips, salad, pizza, fresh fruit. You could serve yourself with lager, soft drinks, hot drinks and water but had to ask the bar people to serve you with spirits. The area outside the hotel was quite, next door to the hospital and close to the power station but this did not bother us. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus every 30 mins to the beach which is beautiful. 8 Euros for 2 beds and a parasol. The sea is lovely and clear, warm and shallow. I guess after all this typing I am saying that we really enjoyed the holiday and would definately recommend it. Hope that this helps you decide on your holiday next year. Di xx

Also kids could play football nearly every night for an hour at a cost of 2 Euros. There were tennis courts, mini golf, table tennis and astro turf footy pitch over the road. My two also visited the First Choice kids club afew times and really enjoyed theirselves. Di x

  • My DS (10 years old now) and I have been to this hotel for the past three years. We were there mid August for 10 nights AI. We have been very happy here (obviously :)) and would definitely recommend it. The staff are very friendly and helpful - both hotel and first choice reps.

The rooms are reasonable size and no problems with cleanliness. I think that the food had def. improved and I was also impressed that the hotel has improved other facilities since we first came to this hotel.

Pools are very clean and great for families. But do try the local beach- there is a shuttle bus (free), but it is no problem to walk there - approx 15 mins. :)
