There's no excuse obviously, but if I were on near minimum wage and made up my salary with sales bonus, I'd be more interested in flogging a credit card.

Very few are poor quality. Most are committed, even if it can often feel that their employer is asking them to deliver an impossible balance between service and sales on what seems like an ever decreasing number of staff and limited support from call centres and processing centres.0 -

...tho I can think of one bank who are trying to prove the adage from reading the money sections of the weekend press.
Most (all?) of the branch staff I have come across have been exemplary. The one slight gripe is that some do try to push insurance, credit cards, mortgages whenever I pay in a cheque for even a small amount but I can live with that.God save the King!

ususally because their annual wage review/bonus used to top up the comparatively low wages and some times their continued employment, depends on sales and targets.0 -
