  • Just a quick question.

Just started as a factfinder and not sure what to do about questions that I cant find the answer to. Some are a nightmare! Do I pass them on or press abort?

    Thanks

So I just did the test..And I failed, but I really don't understand why..

I googled every answer and had done the test with about 2 minutes left to go..There was only 2 questions I didn't google, so there the only questions I could have got wrong, as I double checked them all..

Has anyone else failed after getting such a little amount wrong?

Did you get an email saying you'd failed? That was a very quick turnaround.. it's usually at least 24hr.

You need to cite a valid website for each answer (ie not Wikianswers, yahoo answers), your answers need to be at least 8 words long without any grammar or spelling mistakes.

What did you do for the 2 answers you say you didn't Google, what website did you cite?

Join the forum! There is a specific query FF forum where people can help you find the answers. I would do your very best to try and find an answer within the 5-10 minutes before it times out, and then if it times out it'll get sent to another guide.

There are also a lot of test questions about the SPL, MPs and train stations where there are a source website for each we use that'll give you all the answers.

  • The questions were multiple choice, it didn't ask to cite them or anything? There was 20 questions..They weren't even that hard too be honest..Stuff like whats the largest ocean in the world! All the questions could be googled in literally 10 seconds max..Only 2 that couldn't be..Which I can only presume I got them both wrong otherwise I wouldn't have failed..

It said straight after..I wasn't sure whether it could have picked up my IP address and realized I'm in australia at the moment..

The message just said straight after the test that I'm not suitable for the position..I literally can't understand why my answers on the test would lead them to not give me the job..
  • Hi, I've been thinking of trying this, but it would be mainly during the day to replace hours I'll be losing from my job. Is there much traffic during the day, or do you have to do the evenings to make decent money? I don't have a laptop so have to go in the other room to use the pc

Ohhh! That test! Yes, I remember. Sorry, I thought you meant the readiness test where you do a test run as a FactFinder.

From what I remember, it was about the grammar/punctuation/presentation of the answers, since as you say most of them were quite obvious and you didn't need to google.

    I don't know about the location I'm afraid :( Sorry :(

You can make money working during the day, but you'd probably have to start quite early before the late nighters get on, then you'll find there is less competition. If you can do weekend contests too then that will really make a difference to your earnings.

Ideally you'd have your PC in the most convienient place for you so that you can do other things as well as ChaCha. But as long as you can hear the bell ring, turn your speakers up really loud you should be ok. But you'd probably find it easier if you didn't have to be shut away in another room to do this.
