Cheapest/Fastest (4Mpbs) Broadband & Phone Deal with LINE RENTAL! MAKE ME A STICKY!

Options
Yes you hear me, not a lot of people know this right now, but bulldog are doing a deal that will blow your head off in saving LINE RENTAL and on calls and broadband!

For £52 a month it pays for:

1. Line rental

2. 4Mpbs broadband with no download limit or time limit!! (This is every hardcore internet users dream)

3. Unlimited phone calls to local and national UK landlines!!!

4. Popular standard call features - anonymous calling (141) and call return (1471) - included at no extra charge

AND YOU GET TO KEEP BT PHONE NUMBER (or get a new one) as well as getting a standard phone line (free from the force of bt) which replaces your current BT line!

I've just listed the main features that is all well worth £52!

But theres more, if you sign up by the 10th of March you get all this for 12 months for a £39 saving you a wopping £156!

Plus it's only a 1 month contract, so even though you could stay for that 12 months and get it cheaper, any time after 1 month you can cancel and goto someone else if you thought it was a better offer (or service, whatever).

I'm not an advertiser for this company, but i can see this is a great bargain that even if you miss out on the 10th of March offer, you still are much better off.

Or

Get the exact same offer but without the unlimited phone calls to local and national numbers (so you could use 18866 or 1899 for this offer) for £40 p/m or £30 p/m if you sign up by 10th of March.

I really think someone should put this as a sticky somewhere, and also inform martin about it, because thats the best offer out there for line rental and internet broadband combined!

1 month contract adds £30 to the already very high £50 connection fee.

4MB bandwidth is available almost nowhere on standard BT lines - that's why it says "upto 4MB" - put your phone number in the line check box and you will be offered 1MB or 2MB - ie new standard BT speeds.

All Cable & Wireless are doing here is re-selling BT wholesale products.

"The line costs £10.50 a month, just like a BT line*"...that's because it is.

Appears to be approx same overall cost as equivalent BT.

    Don't all rush at once.

Not worth making it a sticky.

    Good news!
Bulldog 4meg @active service will be available in your area Anticipated May 2005
    Bulldog Inter@ctive
    all-you-can-use 4 meg internet access + Bulldog Home phone line = £30.00 + £1 Connection

I am paying £22.99 for 1 Meg (6 Gig/month limit) + £10.50 to BT so it looks a good deal for me :)

Reply: Thats one way companies stop you from using the 1 month contract, but every company does that, plus the conection fee is a small price to pay for an offer liker that.

Reply: Very true, sorry for getting people too hyped up including myself (When i entered my phone number in the checker it came out with results so i thought it was possible to get in my area) but is still a great offer for them areas (quite big ones) that can have it. But you can't buy the package if your line doesn't support it, so when it says upto 4mpbs, you can't buy it and spend more for less speed.

Reply: I can't see that quoted on the site, but thats bt option 1 line rental offer which you can't compare to bulldogs because they are not equivilant to whats being offered, but you can compare it to option 3 which is equivalant to whats being offered, and you save a £10 difference on line rental!

Appears to be approx same overall cost as equivalent BT.

Reply: I wouldn't say that, BT Option 3 would cost £25.50 bt's 2mpbs broadband cost 24.99 for a small limit of 15GB, or the yahoo broadband for 29.99 with a limit of 30GB adding up to £55.99, plus it's half the speed, and you have to pay 3p a min after an hour of the call! Plus bulldogs international costs are much cheaper thatn bt's (would still go with 18866 and 1899 for that). So it seems to be cheaper with faster speeds, no limits on download and no limits or charges after an hour.

    Don't all rush at once.

Reply: Who said anything about rushing, the offers up till 10th march

Not worth making it a sticky.

Reply: Well i thought it was, but depends on the overall feedback to decide (and the mods of course) ;)

So if he'd of compared it to the right package, you save £10 on line rental!

Bt's option 3 is £25.50 by the way, and you get that without the 1 hour bt limit for £10.50!

If you look somewhere down the index board there are a couple of threads which include remarks that BT are trialling increases to 8Mb/s. One is called something about quadrupling speed; I said it might quadruple again. The other is on a Plusnet thread, for they are doing this in conjunction with BT in the near future, without necessarily any increase in price. I don't remember if these are limited capacity.

It seems there will be a lot of developments in the near future. Anyone rushing into the first spectacular offer may regret being long-term committed to something that has been surpassed.

Especially if you are paying an amount for inclusive calls that you may never make use of and can be had very cheaply or free with a separate contract ;)

i just called Bulldog to ask a few questions after reading this thread. The upshot is that the deal gets even better:

    the Bulldog Start@ctive
pay-as-you-go 4 meg internet access with 400 minutes/month free + Bulldog Home phone line
Standard monthly rental £26 is being offered without any caps for the first six months. after six months it will revert to a capped service by which time in the word of the Bulldog phone advisor "you would have a lot more choice". So the deal is 6 month 4meg uncapped service for £26/month with first month free and just £1 connection fee. Your phone service will be provided by Bulldog and you dont have to pay BT any line rental. The £26 includes 4meg service and line rental. I think this is a great deal.

    What do you guys think?

400 "free" online minutes- thats 13 min per day! think most BB users would use a lot more!

I agree payless but for there is no lomit for the first 6 months which makes it a good deal at a good price. basically the cost is £10 for telephone line and £15 for a 4meg broadband uncapped which is great
