Positive comment on Santander

Hey folks!
OK i really just want some opinions on whats happened with my account and if anything like this has ever happened to anyone else.
I must stress i am not employed by Santander in anyway (you will see why!).
I was a RBS customer for 15 years or so and recently decided to switch to Santander. My main reason for switching was that i got a good deal on my mortgage with them and although being a Gold member with RBS i never felt like they ever made me feel like a loyal customer, No worthwhile incentives etc.
Anyway i switched to Santander and made my £100 for switching and a cheeky little £50 on quidco through the deal as well! Good start!
I had a Modest overdraft facility with the RBS around £500. Part of the switching was that Santander matched this OD. Not only did they match it but they gave me around 5 times more which is interest free!
Whoop whoop i thought. I don't have any credit cards at the moment with any balance on them. This is basically interest free credit for a year..I think i will treat myself a little. So i ran the overdraft up a bit in the first 3 months!
Heres where it gets interesting.....
I recieve a letter telling me they made a mistake with my application and had given me too much of an overdraft...eeek!
As a responsibly lender they couldn't give me that much and would have to reduce it...Double eek!
Now the good bit. they were reducing me back to £500 but because i had already used a chunk of the accidental overdraft they were crediting my account with £900 to square it up.
Too good to be true? Well it was set to happen 1 month after i received the letter and a month later thats exactly what happened. Account was credited with £900 referenced to the letter that was sent to me and my overdraft reduced!
Now i know Santander gets a lot of bad press on here but really its been pretty awesome to me so far?
Maybe they are using acts like this for good publicity? Who knows but i am not complaining.
Has anyone else had anything similar happen to them?

Just don't believe it. Sorry.0

OMG - think I need to switch!
Maybe the person who was handling your account as leaving and thought they'd go out in style!0 -
So, if the story's true, you're saying they made an error.
But you made it up.
Feel free to post up the letter, hiding the account details.0 -

I'm looking, but I'm not seeing?0 -
considering they have about 5 billion customers world wide, I suppose they gotta get at least one account right0

Yeah but giving away £900 isn't "doing it right", it's screwing up!
Besides, OP is clearly talking out of his proverbial.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
